And Jon would again be right...we cant be thinking THAT big at this point...the first phase is coming along swimmingly though as I could see when I walked out of my dorm this morning

I guess my original point is just that LU will be too big in 5 years for the BS (assuming they finish the expansion and are able to fill it relatively well on game day)...now they probably won’t make the jump (in five years) to FBS more likely a better FCS conference, but regardless the future of LU is not with the BS.

Your right in that it is rather pointless to argue if LU will expand the FB stadium again in 10 years or 100. All I was trying to get you to consider is that for good or bad, LU rarely does anything on a conventional time table (it’s usually a whole lot faster).

it seems when i get my hopes up i get let down. but LU needs to win the big south as previously stated before our minds start dreaming of being in the ncaa tournament...and as much as i LOVE LIBERTY FOOTBALL "WHO BY THE WAY IS MY FAV ALL TIME FOOTBALL TEAM" ill beiieve that we've moved to a better conference OR FBS when i see it. ive what if'd way too many times and always find disappointment. so thats where im at.

Have you done the math?

To fill it up, that would mean almost every resident in the city of Lynchburg (from senior citizens to infants) would have to be in attendance--including the 24503 crowd.

Come on super dont burst my bubble! I think it will be sooner than later they expand to 60,000. It may only be when our grandkids are going but still  I am very excited about the current expansion and cant wait to see the completed 30k seat stadium. If we could fill that I would be happy for now...especially if we keep winning :!:

I will say that we get there quicker than UVA or VaTech did. I know UVA went to 60K in the mid/late 90's and Tech was right behind them.

I think by the time we are drawing 30K we'll be drawing people (alums and otherwise) from around the state and possibly some from the NC and MD borders

Just to be clear by “that far off” I’m refereeing to after the 30k section is finished (they said it would take 5 years). So somewhere around 10-15 total till they could start on another upgrade.

Oh I won't try to argue that I'm optimistic but...If you use numbers that include the surrounding counties that means there are about 230k people within 45 min drive of LU. Also in 10-15 years I assume (optimistically) that LU counties to grow to over 20k on campus (I know not ever student would go but some would).

I will say that I don’t see LU getting much above 30k until they move to FBS (in 10-15 years it could happen). If it did I don’t know why they couldn’t average 40-50k a game and max out for big ones.
