It's just not a good fit. For a variety of reasons.

I would agree with you Asheville isn't exactly a hot bed for football and the school would be more successful in building around their basketball and soccer programs. which is, from my understanding, what they are doing. UNCA is one of those schools that football just wouldn't succeed at.

Everybody makes fun of us because we don't have a football team, but honestly 99% of UNC-A is perfectly content without having one.

It's really not that big of a deal in my opinion. Some schools just shouldn't have football teams.

I was going to say. My mom went to Mars hill and it she said football was always hard around that area because App and Western were so close.

I said this earlier but, Man you know one thing i learned today? There are more competent Big south fans out there then i thought. The guys that came over to the board and defended the big south and even LU we really appreciate it. ya'll are a class act. Sometimes we get fans on here that like to promote their own agenda in bashing the school while promoting their own but today everyone especially those from WU, GW and UNCA contributed and even sympathized with us in our delima today. ...I just want everyone to know that I will be transferring to a different message board. It hasn't really been a difficult decision for me, some other college sports boards have offered me more money and exposure. Sure, I've laid some eggs when I've been posting in front of a live blogging audience, but still, you guys are small timers.
