That was epic when skittles was around...wonder what happened to her?

As for this situation, im still curious what soured him so quickly. I mean did he take a visit when we recruited him? if he did, I'm sure that he got to see just what we were all about, from not only a basketball perspective, but also an academic and spiritual perspective. If he didn't take any , I have to wonder why he signed someplace not knowing what to expect when he got there. Did he have a tough experience in his one week of classes? There has to be more to this story...

Braxton visited campus late Sept. 2013 before he signed, and DL is a stickler about wanting his recruits to go in with their eyes wide open as to what is expected of them as LU students. The campus experience in the Summer is very different from the regular school year, but it's hard to know if that was a factor.

After he decides what he is going to do I will further explain but it's really pretty simple. There is no dark side or mishandling by anyone at LU.

As Potentate of :flamingdevil I can state it is not our policy to run posters or athletes off. I also give the benefit of the doubt to DL in this type of situation.
I look forward to seeing what happens to him and am glad you are around !

I don't have the time to read through everything and it might have been mentioned but regardless of getting a release he still up and left during classes which means he flunked college courses which would then make him ineligible to play in the fall...very bad move for this kid

Not necessarily. There's a period of time to withdrawal from a class. He left us in a bad way, but there's no sense in punishing the kid. Just from observation it appears he's a little whipped and missed his girl.

Plus, mothered are ways around it in regards to number of hours taken or getting an Incomplete to be made up later

Yup...he made his bed and now he must sleep in it. now even if he does transfer, he is out at least for the first semester AND he will have to sit out a year on top of that if he doesnt end up at a JUCO or drops down to a lower level

In fairness, being "that kid"..... excellent student, great athlete, loves Jesus, the one who always seems to say and do the right thing and, to quote pop, "has always been nothing but a source of pride for his family" can be a lot of pressure on a 17 year old. Looks like he got away from his support system at home, didn't know how to handle it, and it blew up. It's certainly made a mess, but hopefully no irreparable damage has been done.

I wouldnt want him back at this point. He would have to really show some maturity and accept responsibility for his actions and show a lot of remorse to even be considered to be taken back. It doesnt sound like that is an option anyway so it doesnt matter

Really? I can't imagine them offering him a scholarship other than as a shameless ploy to set themselves up to try to get his 5 star HS teammate Blackwell in 2016 (which is exactly how he got his offer from LSU, who wanted his other blue chip teammate Lindsey, who ended up at Providence). You would think he would appreciate a program that actually wanted HIM. Apparently not. Hopefully anyone interested in Bonds is aware of the stunt he pulled with us.

If this happens, I think he will also be in for a rude awakening as to the distance. 3 hours is a lot less than 8, but once team obligations begin, he still won't be able to get home all that often. Welcome to adulthood Braxton.
