Also, I'm sick and tired of seeing fouls going uncalled when we are at home and in the trenches and then when the game is out of hand the whistle starts to blow to even the numbers back up. That didnt happen this game, mainly because it was uneven amount from start to finish but its happened many times at home.


Either way the games going to be reviewed by those that can do something about it, so thats what matters to me.

At the end of the day, despite the officiating, we had a chance to win at the end of the game and we didn't make the shots. You can't blame anyone but ourselves for this loss.

I know who is reviewing this, fairly well. Here is an excerpt from Clougherty to shed some light on situations like these:

"I think most of the phone calls I get are along the lines of, “We don’t get that same call. Just be consistent. Give us the same calls as them. If it’s a foul, then let’s make sure it’s a foul on both ends of the floor.”

But at the same time, I’m not sure coaches in the heat of the game can be as objective as they need to be. If I was a coach, I would think, “We’re not getting the same calls.” That’s a natural reaction.

Consistency is always the big issue. I tell them, “It’s not going to be as consistent as I want it to be, because the three guys calling the game on Saturday are different than the three who worked on Wednesday.” It’s my job to get those guys calling the same game, but that doesn’t always happen. Their teams don’t always play the same way, either."

so the technical foul was apparently called on a fan... who knew? but here is what i just got a from the guys facebook status

"supposedly received a technical foul at the Liberty/Radford game earlier this week for excessive yelling at the referee, calling out his name, and just being an obnoxious idiot. This subsequently led to two pivotal, free foul shots for Radford and we lost. I feel like a jerk for losing the game for the entire team and ...our fanbase, but I don't know how I just found out."

No, no it was not. The foul was called on Kyle Ohman. The ref signaled "one one" to the ref, with his arms crossed in intentional/flagrant fashion, and the box score confirms this.

As an official, you can notify game management about a rowdy fan, but they decide what to do with him, not the official. It can be "suggested" that the fan be removed, but its up to GM. A tech can be called against the home team for objects being thrown on the floor.

ive never even seen it go as far as the official talking to a GM about a fan in college... I know back in high school i saw a guy get thrown out because he was yelling at the ref... but the gym was much smaller and the fan much closer to the court and the official
