I haven't been on here all day. I was at basketball practice from none until about five. Only reason I'm here now is I'm waiting on my parents to get home so we can have dinner.

There we go, Teejay creates a turnover and kicks to Smitty for a much needed trey.

Smitty hitting some three's is good, but the defense still can't clamp down.

i may get burned for this but I don't care. they played terrible.

1. the offense didn't pass enough, especially in the first half. it was catch and shoot. I don't consider a 3 to be good shot selection when your 1-12 and you haven't passed it any yet. if you can't make the 3 don't take it. the offense has hardly any movement away from the ball. I think they need to practice the motion or w/e it is they are running a little bit more.

2. tj is a great ball handler. this is the first time i've seen him play, so I'm just judging what he did tonight. he has poor decision making. he drives in the lane and picks up his dribble, but has no shot and no pass so he either draws a foul or kick it out in hopes of a LU player catching it. He also doesn't have a great shot. I'm not as impressed with him as i thought i would be.

3. i didn't think ace did very well tonight. i haven't seen the numbers, but he had no chance against patterson. he also missed easy buckets.

4. if every player played like ohman does as far as diving after every lose ball and being all over the court, the team would be a lot better. there is too much standing around and not enough hustle.

5. the defense is terrible. the 2-3 was a bad idea, but i assume it was to shut down their big men. not a good idea though when they're stroking the 3.

kentucky is not that good this year and we should not have lost by that much. I hope we pick it up in the future or its gonna be a long season. i know i'm critical, but i expect much better things from this team than what i saw tonight.

What exactly do you expect from the team this year? That could explain a lot about your post. If you expect us to be great and challenge Winthrop, then I can understand. If you're like most people and realize it takes a while for people to step into roles and adjust to a new coach, you'll be disappointed in what happened but understand that it's part of the transition process.

You must not have seen the numbers. No one played well. But if you go by stats then Alex had 1/3 of the points and played the most minutes. his fg% and ft% were the highest. He can't carry the team. B.J. was 4 for 14. Come on. You can't win against anyone with those stats. And Teejay what the heck. It should have been alot closer. Look at all the away games. Check out the other teams. No one is traveling as much and playing as many games so close together. Keep playing Alex 36 minutes and we will be burnt out come January.

"Not that good" in the SEC would be good enough for top 2 in the Big South most years...

I think it was obvious that he was assessing them relative to years past.

I sense we may be falling into the same trap that we did with Coach Rocco in his first year. We are expecting all of a sudden for this team to be great and beat all these teams. Now we should win the games we are supposed to win and a few that we aren;t/ but I wasn't looking at this season and expecting this bunch to win 10 in a row to start the year. I want to see the team do well yes but you have to temper your expectations when a new coach comes in. Now that being said, I also don't think we should crucify Coach McKay because we are 2-4. These guys are in a new system so its gonna take some time yet.

Please define "we", because I've said numerous times on this board that I really have no expectations for the next two seasons in terms of wins and losses. There are a lot of other things I'll measure the program by during that time. So far everything Coach McKay has done is living up to my expectations. The wins will come in time. I don't think anyone is expecting one off-season for a turnaround, and probably not even a one or two year turnaround. At least they'd better not be.

I for one have not had high expectations...I think we will finish in the top 4 in the big south and be pretty much where we were last year (record wise)...to me that would be fine as we lost 2 pretty big pieces last year...anybody that thought any different (which I think was a minority of people on this board) doesn't know college basketball at all....
