Holy crap this is awesome. Transparent. Honest. and complete with explanations. I would venture to say this is the best handled press conference so far that we've ever had here at LU.

Great job guys, seriously. I just called the girl that dumped me in college for a saxophone in the marching band to see if she wanted to date again. She said no. So, you guys at least succeeded where I failed.
Your girl dumped you for a saxaphone? That's a new one.
Maybe she was looking for great sax.

I thought both Barber and Ritchie McKay hit a homerun. An absolute home run. Count me as one who isn't as excited for the McKay hire but I thought he did a tremendous job answering the question that everybody was wondering about.

+1

Very good job. Welcome back coach! :)

Dude come on. We get that you dont like this. I am not all the way in the boat yet either but for the love of all things sacred give the guys some credit for addressing everything and absolutely nailing a press conference that had the potential to be pretty bad.

Pretty much everything has been a huge step up...from the process (BSK's comments notwithstanding) all the way through this presser.

Next up...recruiting, starting with the current players.

Flamesnation just said Ritchie told Jerry Jr. last night that he intends to retire at LU. Uh-oh. Deja Vu all over again lol.

My best memory of Ritchie's first time around is Seth nailing the game winning shot over George Mason. Hope we get the Vines center rocking again like it was that night.

Incredibly impressed.

I'll be interested to see what is different now than when he left. Why is this a better job now than 6 years ago? He would have been here through all the facility upgrades etc so that doesn't wash. I'm just not sure what is different now than back then

Best basketball memory I have as a student. Was in the corner behind the LU Bench about 5 rows up. Went nuts and still remember the 3 to tie to take it to OT, then the 3 to win it. Unbelievable game.

Perspective here guys. McKay won while at LU and that was something Barber pointed out. He will win again and that's what we want. One of the best press conferences I seen in a long time. SJ hit the nail on the head earlier. Leave the emotion out of it and it's definitely the right hire.

He's a better coach with more experience under a perennial top 25 program.

Every other school in the Big South would love to make a Ritchie McKay type hire and many other higher level schools. I am nervous about it, but this is one heck of a hire.

My guess is that he probably didn't want one anyways. As a national CBB writer for ESPN, he's got bigger fish to fry than Liberty basketball considering there are much bigger job openings out there and this whole Final Four thing coming up.
