If it takes you that long you must be including a stop at the Virginia Diner. I can get from the Vines Center to my house in just under 3:10 with no stops and a little luck with the stop lights once you pass Petersburg (I also happen to be a 6 over the speed limit kind of guy). ODU is 10 minutes up I-464 from me.

If this is an early afternoon game, it will be well worth the trip from the burg. The Ted is a great place to watch a game. Parking is really easy, although Hampton Blvd in Norfolk is a pain to deal with. At least it will be on a Saturday. If you can, I highly recomend the road trip. I might feel kinda funny being the only guy (plus Mrs. 01) in the crowd with a red shirt on as our team rolls up another CAA opponent. 8)

Afternoon game - 95% chance I'm there.

Night game - 50/50 but we all know the day before the game I'll get itchy feet and end up going.

That's how long mapquest said it was. I've never made the trip.

Mapquest tends to be conservative in their travel times. It usually takes me 15-20% less than they say.

Mapquest doesn't take into account that most people drive 10-15 over either.

No. You just have to figure it won't take quite as long as they say.

I use Google more than anything.

Then again, now that I have a GPS, I don't really use any of em.

about 3 1/2 hours is a good estimate... of course watch your speed around Emporia if your coming that way... they pay for everything there through traffic tix.

Dude, the whole religion/Robertson/Falwell discussion started by some bitter jack*** from our RIVAL school. He just got people's ire up. We also have some frankly ignorant teenagers that post all of their wisdom at times... (it usually only takes 2 sentences).
MOST of us on the board enjoy Basketball whether your atheist/agnostic/christian/other or haven't figured it out yet.
As I attended both schools so I have respect for both... and the "Liberty Way!" :)

LUconn wrote:The consensus for them seems to be they'll just use their height and win. Pretty sure only Radford has successfully done that. And I'm not so sure it wasn't more of the physicality of their bigs rather than their height. Hopefully they go into the game thinking they can just score in the pain anytime they want.
Actually our "bigs" aren't really bruiser types. We have one guy (Carter 6'9" rs soph) that can hit 3's as well as most guards. Our one bruiser (6'9" Hassel rs soph) will score 5 one night and sleep walk through the game, or score 17pts like he did tonight... so you never know. Gerald Lee (jr) is 6'10", he can run the floor and has a very soft touch. The kinda guy that can step out and hit a 3 or use a drop step and glass to get his points. He had 23 points against Mason and had 18 double doubles in a row.

If that is the case, 3.5-3.75 hours is a realistic estimate then. it takes about 4 by charter bus to get to vwc.

Ok I have to say this... not trying to pick a fight or anything but... man your logo up top is fairly creepy. Looks like some kinda weird party going on in the midst of eternal hell fire... yikes!

And yours looks like an old and almost blind cat that found a job as a bellhop. At least ours is modernized!

ODULU ... didn't you stop by the old Firehouse back in the day?

As for our logo, I don't get the creepy. But to each his own.

Yeah, I guess I did stop by the firehouse. Wasn't trying to get picky.... just the silhouette of people in flames seems a little ironic if you think about it. Hell, (no pun intended) maybe it's Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego and friends watching Liberty BBall on the big screen?

I never said anything about the "party in hell" look because I figured someone had already made that joke. Honestly, it does look like a Def Leppard concert in Perdition up there especially with the dude waving devil fingers over the "an".

Nice draw. You were never going to get Davidson and you probably wouldn't want it if you got it anyway. VMI got snubbed. Why Winthrop or Gardner-Webb got a game is beyond me.
