First of all I have had hung out with many players on the team. They are all nice guys off the court. However, that is not true on the court. If you are going to be critical of Kyle then you have to be critical of the others. T.J. does not respond positively to any criticism, and acts like he could not care less what the coach has to say. He makes stupid passes and decisions, but gets mad at everyone other than himself. Ace cries about every call as I mentioned before, and reacts to his big plays the same way Kyle does. Kyle is not cockier than any of those three guys, and honestly what is wrong with being cocky. J.J. was cocky, M.J. was cocky, Magic was cocky, and I think it worked out well for them. Apparently your coaching advice came from Randy Dunton. You let a shooter shoot through his cold streak and you don't pull him out. Pulling him out only limits his confidence and shows a lack of faith by the coach. I understand you are probably one of the kids who got t bagged by Kyle in intramurals, but you just need to let that go. The flames fan club likes to think the players love them and they have a close relationship with the players. However, I have personally heard from the players that they think most of you are idiots. Just be objective with your critcisms. Thats all.
Im not going to respond to the rest of the crap that has dribbled out of your mouth, but i will say this. When it comes to a shooter going cold, your right, 100% no if ands or buts about it. Kyle is wayyyy cockier than all 3 of those guys. TeeJay talks to me every day, He responds very well to criticism. I tell him things like that all of the time and he takes it well and respects what I have to say so im sure he respects what the coaches say too, So Enough with that crap. And Yes TeeJay makes terrible decisions, Thats why hes one of the top in the nation with assists...
I understand you like T.J., and I don't care that he talks to you during the day. I was talking about his attitude and body language when he gets pulled out of the game or when the coach tries to talk to him. You are right T.J. does have a lot of assists, but he also has a ton of turnovers which accounts for his terrible decisions. His assist turnover ratio is not very good. I am also sure you remember the way Alex completely freaked out and shut down during the Radford game. I don't think you can honestly disagree with my assessment of T.J. and Alex's actions.
Well I wont disagree with you about Alex at Radford, I dont know what happened, but it hurt us. And Point Guards are going to have turnovers, especially in the Big south when players arent ready to handle those sorts of no look passes and such. TeeJay's Body language doesnt mean anything, and at that i think you might be reading it wrong. Hes not giving any coaches problems and he is doing his job. Hes not talking back, or giving any attitude, he steps off and steps on and does his job night in and night out.

I've had class with Kyle. I really like the kid. At the beginning of the season, he was easily my favorite player.

However, in the first conference game of the year, at UNC Asheville, I saw something change. He tried to take people off the dribble, and succeeded. I had no problem with him doing that. However, at the end of the play, instead of just going up strong, trying to get the lay-up and a foul, he was trying to reverse everything mid-air, make playground type passes, or reverse the lay-up and make some special play. Had he just went strong to the hole, he would've been fouled and been able to knock down the free throws.

Secondly, in that game, whenever we came back and tied it, Kyle started yelling at the Asheville students antagonizing them and displaying the cocky behavior people on here have posted about. The difference in what he did, and what Alex does is Kyle's was directed towards the other team's fans. I have never seen Alex do that. Alex generally just yells towards the Liberty fans. When Kyle lets out emotions at home, it's towards our fans, and I have no problem with that. It's purposely antagonizing the opposing team's fans that I have a problem with.

Lastly is the defense. Yes, Kyle plays hard and goes for every loose ball possible, tries to make the hustle play, and all of that. With that being said, there are times, and it was evidenced last night, where he tries too late to make the hustle play. On a breakaway lay-up, he tries to foul the player to stop him from getting the shot off, but he's a step or two too late and fouls them after the ball's already been released. The same can be said on loose balls at times, where a player is already on the floor getting possession of the ball and Kyle comes diving in trying to get in from him. There's normally been one or two of those type of plays in the past month or so that has really contributed to Kyle getting in foul trouble.

Kyle Ohman definitely has the talent to play in this league. He has the heart to play here too. He's just got to play within himself, not try to make the highlight shot or block, and just play his game. There are players he can beat off the dribble. Sometimes, instead of trying to make the amazing no look pass, a simple pull up jumper would be better, or a lay-up, or something of that nature. I'd much rather see that from Kyle than the dump off passes and quick kick-out passes that always seem to end up a turnover.
Let's remember that Kyle is basically a freshman, and for basically being a freshman he has had a heck of a year.
For a walk on "freshman", Yes he has, but he needs to remember his role, thats all we are saying.

I'm going to spare everyone the risk of getting carple tunnel (gmtm?) and not quote everything again. dude. seriously. whats with you?
yea TJ gives off some questionable body language sometimes. but so does russ when he goes into the game for like 2 seconds then gets pulled. so does everyone else on that team when they get pulled. its not cause they ae questioning the coach. you should go watch a practice. those guys hang on every word that comes out of RM's mouth. They respect him a heck of a lot more than past coaches. dude you said it yourself if you are gonna criticize something some guy is doing on the court you need to criticize everyone because chances are they all do somthing that can be ragged on. my point is. you haven't been objective at all in any of your posts. you personally attack people on here who are just trying to have a discussion about what goes on the court and then you happen to catch a couple of us on a bad night and pick a fight. I respect differing opinions on any issue and obviously i'm agreeing to dissagree with you tonight but dude you seriously need to get off your high horse and pull your head out of your rear. noone on here thinks he's better than anyone else. so please don't become another checkmate or whatever. if so then just leave because i honestly dispise punks who get on these sites just to pick a fight.

You quote me but don't respond to any of the points. Your only response was something that had nothing to do with what I posted. Why is that?

And Kyle is a sophomore. He's not "basically a freshman." He's like most sophomores in college basketball. He got very little playing time as a freshman, worked his butt off over the off-season, and due in part to both him getting better as a player, as well as players in front of him graduating, he's getting more time as a sophomore. Saying he's "basically a freshman" is an excuse that degrades what Kyle is doing this year.

For everyone arguing with this kid, just stop. Stop attacking him when he attacks you. Argue facts, things that you can back up with proof. Don't argue "Well he looked at the bench in a way that could be seen as disrespectful" or something like that. Argue things that can be proven wrong or proven right. Otherwise this is just going to be a big pissing match back and forth over nothing and he's just going to keep saying the same thing over and over. If he attacks you personally, don't respond to it and just move on.

No, but when there are dumb arguments involving new people that escalate very fast, I typically have at least one person that IMs me to see if I'd read it. When I got home tonight, I had two IMs telling me to read the thread, and just got a third.

Kyle Ohman had 2 Turnovers (official) and 4 fouls in 28 minutes, in a loss.

He also had 2 assists and 2 threes on four attempts.

No, it is not degrading him, and can you really say a year under Dunton even counts. You were just nitpicking at every little thing, so I was basically making you realize how silly your extreme criticisms were. Just think about how much better B.J. is in his second year of real playing time, even in spite of being under dunton last year. Kyle is having a good year, and it is only going to get better in the next two years. The things you idiots are saying on here tonight is going to look pretty stupid in future.

Did anyone say hes gonna be terrible in the next two years? Did anyone say hes a bad player now? I dont remember that. He probably has to work on some attitude stuff and consistency and passing it to out best 3pt. shooter in anderson (I reallyreally like him) but he can be a really good player if he keeps working hard
