Clearly the hyphen is causing some confusion ...

This scoring point guard, who also shoots the ball well enough to play the shooting guard position, is a headache for opposing defenses. Caleb-Sanders is a tough, fearless competitor. He pushes the ball in transition on the pass or dribble and is a threat to take it coast to coast if the defense can't get him under control. Caleb-Sanders does a great job finishing in the lane for his size. He is strong enough to power through contact or hit the short jumper over taller defenders. He also knocks down open shots with regularity and without hesitation. He is a terrific drive, draw and kick passer and he can also slow down and run half-court offense. Caleb-Sanders has an excellent basketball IQ and great feel for the game. At times, he leaves his feet to pass, which makes him charge prone. Overall, this young man is a terrific all-around performer and plays the guard position like a crafty veteran.

Having Jesse and John-Caleb is going to be a tremendous advantage. We shouldn't miss a beat when either one of these guys is on the floor.

ESPN now rates him a 86

Apparently Stephen is still playing for HCYA sporadically. Hopefully I can see these guys soon. I was planning on going to their game tomorrow night before I was enlisted to be a spokesman for our neighborhood at a school board meeting (ugh) and their last game in town this month is Friday up against my son's game.

:banghead

They play twice in Houston next month. Hopefully by then I'll make it and JC will be back playing.

It's a little disheartening/worrying to see both of these guys not playing/playing on a limited basis.

I don't know what's gotten into me today with the "/'s"

I was hoping to go watch HCYA play next Thursday-Saturday. Sly, can you find out if they either John Caleb or Stephen will be playing? Is it confirmed that John Caleb is out for the year?

Last I heard it wasn't certain when JC would be back.

As for Stephen, I have no idea. But the following is on the HCYA website:

Our first HCYA Sports Day of 2010 this past Friday was cancelled due to a hard freeze which knocked out the athletic complex's furnace. Yeah, we don't handle cold very well down here in Houston.

Stephen Baird wasn't in the box score either. But then again I don't see Stephen driving all the way up to play in the land of Dirt Burglars if JC wasn't suiting up.

I was at HCYA yesterday but everyone who had info on the basketball team were all up at this tournament.

Injuries happen. Certainly hope JC makes a full recovery before next fall. The Baird situation is kind of frustrating from the viewpoint of an LU fan. I can't see how it is a good thing for him to be playing "sporadically". I can also see where the 3 hour trip to Houston might be a major obstacle, and if that's the case maybe he should be playing somewhere closer to home. Considering that these 2 kids are currently our entire 2010 recruiting class, it's a little worrysome.

John Caleb makes his return to the court for HCYA tonight. I had planned to be at the game with my son after his game, but my wife has a meeting that ruined my plans. Oh well. The good news is that he is back on the court.

I guess his health issues are behind him.
Just as advertised - like Jesse but a better scorer

Great to see he is healthy again. Do you know who the opponent was Sly? I know HCYA plays a lot of tough public schools, but not exclusively. Now that JC is back in action, hopefully Baird will be able to join him for at least a few games.

As far as I know, it's not going to happen which is rather unfortunate.
