The Lynchburg fishwrap devotes 2 pages of its paper to the area's DI basketball conferences--1 page for the ACC & 1 page for the Big South. For each BSC team, he lists their record, RPI, SOS, starters, bench players, & about 4 short paragraphs per team. I didn't see it in the online version of the paper, but if you're local, it's worth spending half a buck.

Interesting quotes & facts in the preview:

Alex McLean--"He's as fierce a rebounder as there is in the league."

RD & Kenny George--"Bannister might not be afraid of George, but he probably won't spend a lot of time in the paint today trying to get around George either...RD tried that last season...The result? George blocked six shots in the first half...The Flames' folly last season was sending guards LB & DB right at George. It didn't work."

TeeJay & Kenny George--"'He's going to have to keep up with me pushing the ball...We're going to try to run him to death."

TeeJay--"He is on pace for 200 [assists], which would set the school's Division I record."

Kenny George--69 blocks (compared to Rell Porter's 6 blocks); leads the nation in blocks per game (5.3) in only 22 minutes per game.

Radford's SOS = 327, but out of conference, they are playing Michigan, Air Force, Georgetown, JMU, WVU, & South Carolina.

VMI--"4 Keydets have 30 or more steals this season."

CSU--"Carter played for Charlotte Christian...the same school current Liberty signee Seth Curry attends."

CCU--"PG Joshua Mack, who beat Liberty last season with a coast-to-coast basket as time expired, left the team in December."

HPU--"4 of HP's 7 wins came against non DI teams, including wins of 70 & 81 points."

RU--"WVU hit 18 3-pointers against Radford."

Kenny George has been impressive. Leading the league in blocks in only 22mpg is crazy.

The best part of the preview? Not one mention of Greg Marshall anywhere. Thanks, Chris.

the craziest thing about kenny george is that he makes yao ming look small to me. seriously, he looks like he's a foot taller than yao and his arms are considerably longer. i think i heard on sportscenter has has a 8'2"/98" wingspan. he doesn't even have to jump a centimeter to dunk with two hands.

i have to admit I feel sorry for him though. imagine how much it costs he and his parents to keep him clothed...

He is easily 7-10 when you consider the fact that he grew an inch last season after the season started (I got that directly from their SIS last year) and he wears shoes that make him a full 2 inches taller than he is.

Like RD told LB and DB to go at KG. They shot it in early and some good in game adjustments got it back to 84-77. Then we get them by 15 at home. Good Luck tonight Flames.
