This was in Chris' game notes from VMI but I thought it worked better as a separate topic:
Recruits progress on, off field

LEXINGTON - Cedric Sanderson, Terry Adams, Danny Broggin and Terry Williams were some of the more highly regarded members of Liberty's 2006 recruiting class.

None of the four played a snap this season, but that isn't an indictment of their abilities. Instead, Liberty coach Danny Rocco had the luxury of redshirting all of them.

"The guys we have held out, they're making great progress," Rocco said. "They're getting bigger, getting stronger and getting acclimated to college life. For the most part, they're doing well in school. That's a big part of it."

Several freshmen made impacts this year, but they all played at positions where the Flames were extremely thin. Liberty needed Tim Torrence's contributions at cornerback, Trey Jacobs' play on the defensive line and Chris Rocco's help at safety.

"When it was all said and done, I think it's played out just about right," Danny Rocco said. "The guys that we played, we really have needed."

Rocco said ideally he would like to redshirt his entire 2007 recruiting class.

I look for Williams, Adams, Sanderson, Vargas, Tassara, Trowbridge, and Broggin to all make an impact next year. They might not all start but will contribute and may start at some point in there career. That is my opinion based on what I see on paper and what I have read in earlier threads on this sight. I have never observed them in actual practice. Maybe someone else closer to the team and let us know if I left anyone out worth mentioning. Not sure why Spencer Landis wasted this year and didn't redshirt. He only played mop up duty for 3 games. He seems like a descent prospect but decided to play. Such a waste of effort. Not sure where he fits in do to the potential transferes coming in (Hall and McCabe) possibly coming in.

Coach Rocco mentioned on the post game interview yesterday that he is looking to sign 9 high school recruits due to the low number of scholorship seniors on this years team and is looking for bigger linemen. That is a good thing since he can concentrate more on quality rather than quantity when the signing period begins. I am a little off topic here but the recruit signing period is not all that far away.

If Terry Adams can pick up where he left off in high school, he will do big things for the Flames. Now, I'm wondering if anyone's heard anything about recruiting his brother who is, by all accounts, even better than Terry.

I was just going by what I've been told. I haven't been to an Elkin game since Terry was playing. Good to know. Thanks.
