Wake 38 LU 10

In order to stay with these guys we must get the passing game more operational. We can't just run the ball down there throat like we did in the first 3 out of 4 games vs the inferior competion we have been beating up upon. We have to let the pass open up the running game to stay with Wake and not turn the ball over. LU's defense could probably keep the score from getting out of hand but the offense has to help out with picking up first downs just to keep Wake's offense off the field and we have to mix it up with an efficient passing game. Right now we just don't have the personnel to just run the ball and eat away the clock.

You will not put up 24 points. Our defense is ridiculous.

Hey, LU fans. Wake grad here.

I hope a good number of you will make the trip to Winston. You will be well received and will enjoy the experience (although I hope not the final score).

Anyway - prediction.

Wake is playing with a relatively new QB. If Grobe gets the lead by more than a score, Wake will go very conservative. Therefore, any predictions of 35+ Wake points are probably wrong.

With Clemson coming up, Wake may be tempted to overlook the Flames, but I doubt that will be a major factor, so I see Wake dominating, but Liberty not being embarrassed.

I'd say 31-7 might be a reasonable guess.

BTW, I remember your coach when he played at Wake. He was a tremendous competitor. I am sure he still is, and that bodes well for the future of your program.

Welcome to the board R R Rhenish. I hope to be able to make the trip down. A lot of us flames fans know that we are the underdogs. Our quarterback has not shown consistency in passing the ball. In fact he has been consistent at throwing the ball over people's head. So it should be interesting.

Are you guys drawing better than normal? I'm from King and every time I've ever wanted to go to a Wake game I've showed up 30 minutes before and bought a hill side ticket. Are they still doing tickets for the hill and if so, how much are they?

I'm a fan of Wake football. My first football game was to see Wake at Carolina in 94. My second was UVA at Wake in 2000. I want Liberty to win, but our passing game isn't there yet.

Thanks for the welcome!

Wake has been drawing pretty well the past couple of seasons. The stadium seats 31,000 in the stands plus the hill. We had more than capacity for the home opener vs Syracuse and about 5000 under capacity for Dook the next week. Our game with Liberty is Wake's Homecoming, so wtih decent weather, there could be 30,000 or more. However, I am certain you can get tickets easily. If they're not available through Liberty, try 1-888-758-3322 (ticket office) to see what they are still selling. They still sell the hillside seats, but I know nothing more than that since I have season tickets in the stands. I'm not sure if the hillside seats are only sold by the season or if they are available game-by-game. You might also try the Wake website (www.wakeforestsports.com) for ticket information.

Again, plan on coming down. If anyone needs directions from Roanoke, I can help you there (220 to 68 to 158 to 52 North to Akron to the stadium - follow the signs). From Lynchburg, I assume it's 29 to 40 West.

From Lynchburg it's 29 south to I-40 west. You can then either take Business 40 on the other side of Greensboro and go through Kernersville (45mph) and follow some signs or take I-40 (65-70) all the way to 52 North and then Akron Drive.

We're selling tickets, I just don't want to pay $27 for them. That's pretty expensive. I know the hill seats are cheaper, that's why I was asking.

I plan on leaving King around 12:30 which will put me at the game around 12:50 or so.

Wake had 34,100 for Syracuse and around 26,000 for Duke. However, there should be plenty of tickets available.

Prediction: Wake 38, LU 3. Coach Grobe is "all class" and will not run up the score, IF the opportunity presents itself, and I guarantee you, you'll get the utmost respect from the Deacon football team.

Case in point: Wake built up something like a 35-0 lead against NC A & T two years ago and then let the clock run out with about 50 seconds and three timeouts left in the first half with Wake owning the football at the A & T 8-yard line.

For parking, certainly if you arrive a couple hours early (no more), you'l find plenty of parking in a Groves Stadium public lot, which also accomodates tailgating. As a Wake Forest season ticket holder, I'm not sure of the public parking cost but it's in the $5-$10 range. (Normally, you could arrive a little later and have a spot for sure in a stadium lot but the Dixie Classic Fair is in the area too. However, there are numerious parking choices in very easy walking distance regardless.)

Have a great trip down and welcome!

(I'm a season ticket holder, who lives in Annapolis, MD and I miss no Wake home games and very few road games. College football is great!)

I'm going to go against the grain a bit here and say our defense plays it's best game of the year and we hang with WF until the fourth quarter.

WFU - 17
LU - 3

Do any of you Liberty fans have faith in your team? Com'on for real! Stop just looking at stats and paper and hav some heart! Did nobody see the game of Wake Forest against Duke? And Duke who got beat by 1AA team Richmond 0-13, almost beats Wake (Should have but didn't take the opporitunity). Okay our football teams passing is working out it's kinks... but we didn't seemed to be threatened by any team yet... that's why there was a lost against Towson and haven't brought the A game to play yet, but the LU Football team will be ready for WF.

And for those of you who didn't know our defense is ranked #1 in the nation for scoringdefense. So for those of you who think Wake Forest is like Michigan, Ohio or Florida state, they aren't and there's no way there is going to be a ridiculous score like 59-0 or like 45-10 or anything like a blow out. Wake Forest better have their head on straight (hopefully they don't) cuz I'm sure LU is coming to take them down and out with everything they've got. COM'ON FANS!! Get Behind your team and support them. Stop looking at paper stats and nerdy figures and acting like you really know what goes on, it's football anything can happen and it will not be a miracle if the LU football team goes down and beats Wake, it'll just be hard work all the guys put in and physical and mental preparation. And by the way Wake Forest does not have a very good winning record against Division 1-AA schools.

Score prediction: very close game, love to see LU come out on top.

Just had to make a post because of all the ridiculous scores i saw being posted. U act like the LU football team is under Coach Carcher with last teams skills. Newsflash it's not and we've already increased our winning from last year by 300% So i have to say very close game could go either way and i wouldn't be suprised to see either team win.

You can't even spell the guy's name, you have no credibility at all.

You say that Wake almost lost to Dook who lost to Richmond. That's your argument, right? Richmond would beat us by 3 scores this year. They're a top 10 program in the country right now. Wake just went to Ole Miss and won pretty good.

Wake runs the ball, they take a lot of time off of the clock. They basically do the same stuff we do, just at the I-A level. Their coach is very respectful and will NOT run the score up on anyone, especially a Wake alum like Rocco.

The spread is 42 1/2. If you want to make some money, take LU to cover.

The score won't be a huge blowout, and we could very well play them very close, but I don't expect the game to be within two scores.

Haha okay buddy. Yeah i do know how to spell his name... but i did it on purpose cuz we are forgetting about his losing seasons! But DOOK? Lol U talk about spelling. No i don't care if we were playing FSU. I am not basing my arugment that we can win on some other team losing, and LU would waste Duke, they blow bigtime. Like i said, get off your "Statsheet" and have some heart. Have you ever been in the locker room? Do you talk to the LU players? Do you know them? Do you go to their practices? Well obviously you don't because if you did you'd see they are for real and i'm all behind them. They have a dominating team and what i am relying on is they actually play their "A" game. Drop the C's and D's and they will PLAY FOR REAL and you'll see. And within' two scores? So your probably gonna crap yourself when LU gets ahead right? Oh and before you start talking again... remember i am for "GETTING OFF THE STATSHEET AND HAVE SOME HEART!" Ever watch On any given Sunday? Well pretty much anything can happen. Although college is on Sat, still same point. U act like WF is some dominating force talking over the world and you act like LU is under some old era old coach old team.

It doesn't matter if Rocco is an Alumn or not. They wont get the chance to run up the score cuz the coaches will be yelling at their players and saying "HOW CAN WE BE LOSING TO THeSE GUYS" They'll be too busy playing catch up to have a chance to run up the score (IF LU FOOTBALL BRINGS THEIR "A" Game) Otherwise yeah i know what your saying bro! Peace out brother!

Oh sorry, you said Richmond would beat us. Thought you said Duke. But yeah by three scores. Guess we'll see when we meet up with them in the playoffs, but yeah maybe could have a chance of 3 scores if we play our 3rd strings, but it would still be iffy then.
