I've suddenly got a bad feeling about this.

Most of the talk at boneyardbanter is now pro-Rocco

Is that the worst MB ever, or is it just me? I didn't see many Pro Rocco. I kept seeing ones mocking our assistants and stuff.

he is the boneyardbanter guy i do believe. very credible source. and rocco should be interested in the job. if we lose him it will suck, but im telling you LU will find an excellent coach. a former LU football staffer told a buddy of mine that LU is one of the top jobs in FCS, due to facilities and how they take care of coaches and that is saying a lot.

Of course Rocco is interested. That was proven when sources close to Holland said Rocco was possible. Like I said before, Holland should have a good idea of what it was take to land his friend and if he would be interested from the get.

Also, I don't blame Rocco for wanting this job, but it's a huge mistake for him to let it be known that he's "pursuing it hard". If he doesn't get the job, every coach he's recruiting against from now until he actually does leave will let the kids know.

If he does go, I'm going to add ECU to the list of teams I root for. I wish nothing but the best for coach, whether it's here of there. Just have this funny feeling that he's gone, tho. I think we'll be fine long term, I just hope we bring someone in that gives us stability this offseason/next year.

Multiple people who have interaction with Coach Rocco in last 24 hours indicate that he is far from pursuing this hard. If offered, it will not be a slam dunk that he accepts. Based on so many candidates walking away, perhaps ECU isn't looking to ante up the type of glue they were giving Holtz.

He also risks upsetting his current situation. All of a sudden, if he doesn't get it, he's not looked at quite the same way by his current employer & fans. He switches from an "I love it here" persona, to one of "I'm really itching to get out fast."

Changing gears, and speaking hypothetically, if DR does go to ECU, I don't think JB will take it too hard. Not too shabby to have solid working experience w/ the head football coach at your alma mater. Just saying...

In Lang's extra points in the article about spring transfers he notes that DR is currently trying to negotiate an extension to his contract. Now is a good time for LU to extend and fork up the dough to keep him...

I have no idea how this particular situation is being navigated by the various sides involved. However, generally speaking, this is not about being "that kind of person." Its the nature of the business.

This could easily be one or the other...
