I'm pretty sure there were 45 kids with us that were in the stands until well after the game was over.

A fan is a fan, and you are correct. However, the basis of this ENTIRE argument is that they were telling people to wear something other than red. That's the problem.

SuperJon,
Actually this year the theme is Paint it blue. There are signs, its on all the posters for the schedule and the season ticket tshirts which have the logo of all the teams we play this year(at least i think its on there). However, the girls at PC are not going to be caught dead all wearing blue sundresses, and to be honest with you guys are not going to wear PC color button downs(that would be hideous) or even maroon/deep red button downs. however guys will try to throw a tie/bow tie with some type of blue in it. I'm not at all knocking the athletic departments theme or promotions or the money spent trying to get people to wear red. i just think its absurd to knock a group of people who arent wearing school colors in the main part of their clothing. Like i said girls at PC wear Lily Pulitzer patterns all the time in their sundresses (none of which happen to be a PC color really, no one would ever tell them not to wear it.) And im not dissing a group of people like the LUnatics who all want to wear red, but don't diss another group of FANS who want to wear something else, and something more classy i might add.

your completely right..45 red tshirt wearers stayed out of a couple thousand im guessing, while the tiny percentage of sundressers (of what 15) stayed out till the end.. i say skittle lookin fans won that one

Wow... Where have I been? I dont even know what to say... I think its a good thing that more people are at the games and I can see both Sides clearly. I am a member of the LUnatics (which most of you know) and I realize that when people arent in red it looks bad but I guess its cause Im a Florida boy that I like the dressing up. I dont know about the drinking or anything else like that Im just going on looks. Does it look bad on TV for them to be dressed like that? Sure. But I would rather just have people there and if you dont want to wear a red tshirt and stuff and thats what you do, then do it. Yes the athletic dept have put a lot of money into it and wanting everyone to do that, but its no secret how I feel about them so maybe thats why I dont care. I just see it as another branch of what goes on... Bottom line, they can do whatever they want and a lot of people wore red

And would a football player really rather have them than the LUnatics? Wow... Thats a blow to the ego... Ill just stay home and watch the UF games in my Polo then.

Yeah, if all the players felt the way jp does, then I just won't go to games anymore.

This isn't a LUnatics thing vs Southern Style thing. That's not what this is about so I don't want any of you guys to make it about that. You know that the football team, the players, the coaches, the staff, and the athletic department appreciate what we do.

You are right, looks don't matter. Starting a promotion against what the school is doing is what matters. If they want to show up wearing pink and lime green then more power to them, but don't tell other people to do the same thing.

SOLUTION

Have the Athletic Department buy MORE red shirts and give them to any imposter who attempts to walk in with a cute sundress on.

For the 700th time:

Sun dresses are fine.

Polos are fine.

Painted chests are fine.

T-shirts are fine.

Speedos are fine. Ok, maybe not.

All of these things are fine and encouraged but please, please, please, please let them be in school colors.

That's fine. I'll even help you zip up the back if you need me too. As long as it's red.

I know I said my peace before but this has to be said. Our group was in no way created to spite the Liberty Athletic Dept. We all respect what Jeff and his staff has done for this school like I said before, I am a huge Jess Barber supporter! We created the group just for our friends to have fun and get dressed up. We didn't tell people to not wear red, we just encouraged fun bright and vibrant colors. It's not like we posted a dress code rule that said, "hey guys let's all go against the grain on purpose and forget everything the athletic dept. said and wear every color but red just to be disrespectful!" There is nothing on the group site that says "don't wear red!"... In fact I do believe some people wore red. WE WERE NOT OUT TO PURPOSEFULLY GO AGAINST THE ATHLETIC DEPT. The only colors that were banned were black and brown. Anyone could have worn red; In fact they could have worn whatever color they wanted, it wasn't a dictatorship and no one in the group, or in the student section in general, had to abide by any dress code rules. The suggestions were mearly to push the dress in the classy direction.

Please stop accusing the group of purposefully going against the athletic department. I love Jeff Barber and I do believe he is the major reason why Liberty Athletics is so strong now, why would I try to get people to go against him?

But are there any vibrant colors that maybe you wouldnt encourage someone to wear? Like some skin tones dont work with some colors and it could just end up in a big mess. It would be a shame to have a pretty girl and a pretty dress get ruined by a color combination disaster.
