I will hold firm that the best bowl matchup I have seen is LU vs South Carolina . Now before anyone gets their pantyhose in a wad, I realize SC has a bad record, but they've still a SEC team.
Thus the game of taking the name brand over a better quality product. Sure it would be fun to play, and likely best, an SEC team. But Coastal would be a better football game and has far more meaning to LU football.

My vote for who we play in a bowl game goes as follows:

1. Coastal because I would want to be the first team to beat them this year to prove we are the better program

2. SEC team

3. ACC team not named Virginia Tech or NC State

Hmmmm....Liberty still has a lot of options with potential bowls. I may be asking a rhetorical question but I'm only wondering out loud if Liberty's Covid-19 situation (with active cases and then tracing protocols) has precluded them from being considered for the the earlier slot of bowls scheduled from December 19th through 26th? Everything remains interesting...including more programs unwilling to go bowling while of course almost every SEC program (as an example) is going bowling no matter how atrocious their record (although I'm not sure if Vanderbilt will)? To be continued....I hope Liberty A) gets better Covid-19 wise B) Is selected to a bowl and C) that HF remains or that at least someone like Art Briles or whoever is capable to step in to continue the iconic rise of the program into next year.

Good work Sly. I'm beginning to like Orlando, Tampa and Montgomery more and more. Looks as if the "early" bowl game slots have been filled.

Actually the COVID deal could work in our favor, in that we'll be over it, where as some other team may get hit prior to bowl game. As for losing teams, the NCAA made a bad decision to allow losing teams to go to a bowl, (unless not enough winning teams are out there). Any team that only wins 2 or 3 games does not belong in a bowl.

Ballcoach, that would be a HARD SELL to most of our wives, unless they were from Alabama.

I understand what you are saying, but only thing better than Christmas in Alabama, would be a kid getting to go to Santa's Workshop at North Pole for Christmas.

I'm game. I know its the same bowl, but it'll be in a different stadium, against a different team. You can do a lot worse than FL in December.

SMU backs out of Frisco Bowl. Game is only 4 days away. According to sources, Frisco Bowl is now canceled. UTSA will now play in First Responder Bowl. UTSA must be a hot commodity to get another bowl this quick.

My understanding is that if you would have played in a certain bowl because of bowl tie-ins or contracts with the bowl and that bowl was then cancelled, then you could create your own bowl. I don’t see us falling under that scenario given what our bowl contracts are.

Few teams played 12 games - nothing stopping 2 teams from playing who want to play and it could be on a neutral site and adhere to normal game week practice hours.. UVA if they want the extra week of practice comes to mind...
