Army has one of the most beautiful stadiums/locations in all of college football. This is one away game that I really wish I could go to and hope all those that get to have a blast. As far as the game goes, I think it will be tough to slow the run down...if Army is passing 21 times against us I think that means that their run game isn't working anywhere close to what they would like. I usually say that Vegas knows what they are talking about when it comes to the betting lines and O/U but after last week I might say that a little less. I can see this being a game going into the 4th quarter mainly because of Army being young on the line and their pass defense looking suspect at best.

We are tricky for Vegas. We are 13-1 against the speed in the past decade. It's not smart to say we won't cover until the trend changes.

Very interesting website many of you may be interested in checking out as well. It’s got a prediction of over 56 points being scored in the game. Has a ton of stats and predictions etc. one interesting note and I know it’s only been one game but Dukes QB was able to complete 76% of his passes against Army. If our defense plays improved against the TO which I think they will just because some of these juco kids have already made an impact, we could have a fighters chance and buckshot could have a career day.

Those Army fans are smart, and I love this brilliant comparison and high praise that one of them makes. :clapping
This game reminds me of Marshall on their first game as an FBS team back in the 90's. They beat the hell out of us. We do NOT need another Marshall in Liberty right now after this Duke game.

"Army Strong". Even when you’re beating them, you have to keep looking at the scoreboard to make sure. They physically pound the crap out of you!

Army vs Duke - watched it live and it is up on YouTube for anyone wanting to scout. Army player weights listed on roster makes them look like a small team ( except for back and a big DB ) but I didn’t notice a single fat guy - probably least body fat of any NCAA team. LU - we are actually a big team for G5 level - noticed even last year at Baylor - we didn’t look undersized at all ( white uni’s help in that regard ). Based on the dramatic improvement of our D Line gap discipline and team swarm / aggressive attitude - I think LU can force some punts. I imagine turnovers will be hard to come by as Army will be hammering their players for last week turnover margin. I really liked Wimberly comments on being unhappy with first half of ODU defense - ( tackling ). Sounds like he has set the bar high for this year.

Duke's QB Daniel Jones is one of the top QB's in the country and that offense has 3 really solid possession receivers, along with a solid slot. I love what LU did on Saturday, but we don't play as efficient as Duke. I'd be shocked if Calvert completes more than 65%.

Monken said his team will be ready for this game. He was very complimentary of Liberty. He said LU looks the part. They are big, athletic and move fast. LU has won big games, they are well-coached and will be a challenge.

He is a good communicator and does a good job with coach speak.

Army does like to go for it...i would have 10 guys up on or near the LOS for that very reason...with the one returner back

As long as we don't get got like Pickett got ODU. They were playing man on the outside with 8 in the box and two LB corner blitz. There was no failsafe for ODU on that play.

FLAMES!

This prediction is a product of copious amounts of Kool Aid from the ODU game! Kool Aid is real!

From an Army Fan on their message board

"Pre-season I disagreed with the automatic W almost unanimously predicted versus Liberty. And after watching the Duke game I think that Saturday could be ugly if Army does not play at a very high level.

Stephen Buckshot Calvert makes Duke's Daniel Jones look pedestrian. And I have watched Buckshot (actually his middle name) and Liberty for going on 2 years now.

They are not a one dimensional passing team by any stretch. They have a very good big O-line and effective running game. They get better each game. ODU was actually favored last week. Liberty has that family vibe growing stronger each day. That feeling that thing that you cannot describe but you know it when a team has it.

They are not awe struck newcomers to the FBS ranks. And Buck (as his teammates call him) is the real deal with a real team and real coach.

Army must win TOP battle by a lot (2:1 not being unreasonable), keep the Flames O off the field, get an early lead and play ALL 4 quarters full gas.

And Liberty does a really good job with game planning and an even better job making effective adjustments. Both sides of the ball. I hope Calvert and the Flames have a miserable game experience and Army wins. It will not be an easy day.

Play anything like we did against Duke and the final score will be worse."
