It looked like they were grooming Swanson for the holder position. I would like to see Masha to give the opposition something to think about.

Masha would present a more varied threat on a fake, but the most important thing is handling the snap and getting the ball down cleanly with the laces facing right and the ball at the right angle. Not everyone can do it. At least having a QB holding allows you to pass, and Swanson may not be fast, but he is big. I hate when teams use their punter as the holder and then still occasionally try a fake FG. It's generally UGLY.

I would guess yes. Turner doesn't like to put guys in position where they can get hurt during the spring.

My guess is he is trying to implement some new stuff for the season opener. Very reasonable.
