First off, I am really going to miss the telecasts for the next month while the team hits the road. It hasn't aken me long toi become addicted ... just ask Mrs. Sly.

As for the game, I was little concerned with our first unit containing Seymour. Our pass rush and coverage seemed excellent but we need to stop the run as the calibre of competition increases. Otherwise, I can live with that disastrous 4th quarter since the game was out of reach and we were getting young players experience. It'd be better if the experience was more positive in nature, but experience of any kind builds toward the future.

Here is the wrapup of from Chris that somehow slipped between the cracks ...

When Liberty football coach Danny Rocco began to discuss his team’s 44-27 victory over Glenville State Saturday night at Williams Stadium, he was careful to break the discussion into two distinct segments.
There was the competitive part of the game, in which Liberty outclassed the Pioneers and raced to a 34-7 halftime lead, thanks not to sustained drives but brief bursts of offensive excellence.
Then there was the ugly part, the second half that resembled an NFL preseason game. Rocco substituted liberally, giving substantial playing time to players who don’t make the two-deep on a weekly basis.
Suddenly, a laugher turned into a more respectable outcome for the Division II visitors from West Virginia. Liberty led 44-14 with 9:55 left, but Glenville State piled up 141 yards of offense in the fourth quarter against a Flames’ defense that looked like it had already checked out for the night.
Unacceptable, Rocco said.

I'm pretty sure Seymor is going to be the best back we see all season. I wouldn't be worried. the worst is over as far as that is concerned.

Are you smoking crack... first you talk crap about HMO and now you are saying that a DIV II running back will be the best RB we face all year! Are you serious? He is good, I'll give you that. And he could probably see a lot of playing time at any Big South school. But to say he is the best we will face all year is not true. I know he transferred from Central Michigan, but are they really that good? I think we will get more trouble from the RB's from Western Carolina, Lafayette, Youngstown St, Elon, and probably even the kids from Presby and Coastal. Seymor is good, but not the best back we will face all year!

He was an All-Conference player in the MAC. He very-well could be the best back we face all year, and really, it's likely he is the best back individually. He had years of 1117 and 1284 yards in the MAC averaging 5.4 and 4.9 yards per carry not to mention 7.9 and 8.8 yards per catch without fumbling a single time.

Elon and PC don't run the ball.
Coastal goes RB by committee.
Western hasn't established a run game yet.
G-W doesn't run the ball.
CSU barely runs the ball.
VMI surely doesn't have anyone better than him.
Lafayette and Stony Brook have good backs, but I don't think they're as good as Seymore.

really? Central Michigan is terrible and the MAC is only a step above the Big South. Yeah he's good, but I think we will give up more rushing yards to other better teams this year. As far as the actual talent goes, Seymore is probably the best back, but more goes into a running game than the back. We will face much better Offensive lines and that will cause the backs to put up better games than Seymore did. That was my point.

MAC is only a step above the Big South? According to the Sagarin ratings, they're 11 steps above us. Granted, they're the 2nd worst FBS conference in the country, but that's still better than the Big South by a long shot.

Also, the fact he put up those yards on terrible teams is even more impressive than if he was on great teams.

Central Michigan has gone 24-15 the last three years. In fact, with Seymour as their feature back in '06, CMU went 10-4, won the MAC and the Motor City Bowl.

Disappointing as in attire or play?

Highly doubt you'll see that except with the red jerseys. I was a blue/white fan but with the red numbers, the white pants just don't look good.

I was talking about the attire. But the play this past week was spotty as everyone has already pointed out.

We didn't do a great job on Seymour, but I don't think as bad as some are saying. Way over half of his yards came on 2 long runs on their first half drive. There were several runs where he did a Barry Sanders imitation, making several people miss, but ended up going nowhere. I thought he was impressive, and agree he is likely to be the best back we see this year. Certainly the most elusive. Some people need to do a little research before typing.

With the way our Offense was stalling at that point, that not a stupid statement.

Saying a FBS caliber running back is not as good as the 6 teams we play is just stupid. Presby??

I would bet money that if you put Seymour behind any FCS O-line we play against this year, he'd do better than he did Sat. He might not be the fastest, but he's by far the slipperiest (sic) Back we'll see.

It appears your intel was on the mark.
