This guy is all over the place though.
which matchup does more for LU?
A normal down year SC team or any G5 team? As much as I want Coastal or BYU, have to think a chance to beat an SEC team not named Vanderbilt wins out...

An SEC or ACC team probably would give us a bit more cred....but I'd have to go with Coastal above all others for this year, just to settle it for this year once and for all.

You're right BallCoach-not much comparison. A win over an undefeated CCU team that just beat an undefeated BYU team and has received all kinds of attention from ESPN would be a whole lot more profitable and attention grabbing than a win over a South Carolina team with a new coach. Your love affair with the SEC and anything south of the James River clouds your judgement.

South Carolina has only won 2 games vs. a God-awful Vanderbilt and mediocre at best Auburn. Not interested.

I just saw some updated projections by CBS. We're no where to be found. VT is projected for Boca Baton now. Too many 3-7 and 2-8 teams are projected for bowls. Hopefully some of the sorry P5 teams will opt out and open the door for Liberty.

Looks like Stanford from the Pac 12 is also deciding not to go to a bowl this year. So far 4 teams (BC, Pitt, Virginia) with more expected are not going to be going bowling by choice. Liberty has more than just a few options available for itself

A bowl game vs a Power 5 opponent, will be better than a bowl game vs a Sun Belt opponent.
I will hold firm that the best bowl matchup I have seen is LU vs South Carolina . Now before anyone gets their pantyhose in a wad, I realize SC has a bad record, but they've still a SEC team.
