I just talked with a guy today who was ranting about how the money could be used elsewhere and that this was not an effective missions project....

it was a rather taxing conversation cause i couldn't get through to him to tell him that this wasn't a frivolous expense.... but yea it was just very interesting

yea i thought we were paying a little of the difference though if we couldnt get all the donors.. didnt realize that Mr. Williams himself was fronting the money for it all

We're not getting all of the money from Art Williams. There's an aggressive money-raising campaign to pay for everything. I don't have the numbers in front of me but there are certain things you can get named for certain gifts.

However, here's where that kid is making his biggest mistake: We are not taking money from the school to fund this expansion. People in athletics (Jeff Barber, Bob Good, and Roy Jones) are going out and finding donors. They are raising the money for this expansion. We are not taking money away from any program on campus to fund this. No academic or spiritual program is going to be hurt because of the expansion.

i agree.... my main point from his standpoint was the fact that no matter if we like it or not Liberty University is a Business to a degree, and this is a business move and in building we will get people who would never come here and be able to reach them....
