If that was a Cider reference, right state, wrong school. He went to Ole Miss.

First giveaway of the year should be LU Flames face masks or the marketing team needs fired along with everyone else

So i had not read much until damiens article. Are all football players granted an extra year of eligibility or just seniors?

Everyone. It's going to be a mini-nightmare down the road trying to get back to a roster of 85.

Got it. So basically no reason not to play freshman and steele and mitchell are truly opt outs since everybody would have gotten an extra year anyway.

Do we know if they still have a RS year available or does this count as the 5 years to play 4.

A new video out by Liberty Football entitled, "spotlight on special teams". Video showed Alex Barbir squatting 495 for reps  .

If I was a betting man then I would bet we have the strongest kicker in all of college football by far! Dude is jacked out of his mind.

Only a matter of time before he becomes a phenomenon in the world of college football, similar to how the 300 lb Penn State kicker was.

With opt outs and transfer portal, it might not be as difficult as some may think .

Its actually a nice benefit for us. It allows us to basically have our 4 full fbs classes when we bring this next class in. I would think the ncaa would phase it that number down over a 2 or 3 year period. Of course it's the ncaa so logic may not apply.

That could happen, but he would actually need to get on the field and do something first. Per HF, it's neck and neck for PK, and he isn't particularly happy with either and suggested that unless things improve we may be going for it on 4th down a lot.

May not be a bad thing. It can put tremendous pressure on a defense if they know they will have to defend 4 plays vs 3 every time you cross their 45 yard line.

5 FLAMES TO WATCH THIS SEASON
By: Jon Manson

Game week is just around the corner as the Flames begin to turn their attention to Western Kentucky with the season opener on Sept. 19. For Liberty to have the season it’s hoping to and return to another bowl game, there are a few players that must step into prominent roles as Liberty looks to replace several newcomers from last season.

Finebaum, “I think at Southern Miss he’s at least back on the radar screen and my gut feeling is he would take the job just to show that he is ready for prime time again. It’s a good job. Southern Miss is always playing someone we know and occasionally beating them. “I think it would be hard to find a better fit than Hugh Freeze.”

I get why it is brought up. I even mentioned it in a tongue and cheek kind of way but I think after all the events from the past year, we should feel pretty secure in keeping HF for a little while.

Like Manson mentions in his article, it seems unlikely he moves on for anything but a P5 job. Especially with how invested in the school his family has gotten.

I suspect someone in that department may have flaunted their Ole Miss credentials to close that deal.
