Oldflame hit the nail on the head earlier twice.

Second, i hope camire is no longer on the pre game and halftime show. I haven't watched in a couple years but what a blowhard. Its bad enough to read people outside that don't know anything but then there's a guy like him out there blasting away.

Also this should be a wake up call for those that think the pr will improve without jr. The people that hate it will hate it no matter what.

So, we are sending our scheduled weekly tests to the same lab in NC that some ACC teams are using, and in addition to that, we will have our own 15 minute testing machine, which we can use if anyone shows symptoms in daily screenings. I doubt there are very many programs at any level who will have that level of redundancy.

He’s been gone less than a week. It’s not like there has been a major Personnel upheaval in other departments since then.

As discussed before, this is another point that eill redirect college athletics in the near future. I made a gesture about this but jow even AD's and Presidents are stating that a lot more schools will not be around; this may possibly include athletic departments for other schools. Liberty has a good advantage, so we should just do what we can, follow procedures, and watch the dominoes fall by itself.

A Sea of Red weighs in

LIBERTY RESPONDS TO QUESTIONS ABOUT COVID-19 TESTING

Liberty quarterback Chris Ferguson tweeted his support of all Liberty has done to ensure the safety of student athletes saying, “Liberty has worked tirelessly to make sure we are kept safe and healthy during this time. Proper precautions have been taken from day 1 and they will continue to be!!!”

Another question. With the PAC-12, Big 10, MAC, and Mountain West cancelling, as well as a few individual schools, does Liberty have a much better shot at being on TV this year? A normal schedule in college could have 55 games per week I would think.

This year:
Week 2: 21 games. (Western Carolina)
Week 3: 17 games (at Western Kentucky)
Week 4: 24 games (FIU)
Week 5:
Week 6: 21 games (ULM)
Week 7: 25 games (at Syracuse)
Week 8: 25 games (Southern Miss)
Week 9:
Week 10: 27 games (at Virginia Tech)
Week 11: 26 games (Gardner Webb)
Week 12: 24 games. (at NC State)
Week 13: 29 games (BYU ?)

A few of things to point out:

1. The media and the anti-Christian leftists hate us. No matter who the President is, they will hate us. No matter who our University President is, they will hate us.
2. The national sports media is just as liberal and dishonest as their counterparts in "news" or political media. And most of the national sports media is opposed to any college football this fall because of the Rona, aka because there's a Presidential Election this November.
3. When you put 1 and 2 together, they make for a nice convenient story to add to their narrative. "The Christian school is shady and is all the more reason why the ACC and college football should not happen. "
4. They failed to point out that the primadonna's on my second favorite college team, Syracuse, keep refusing to practice over their fears of the Rona and their perceived lack of adequate testing by SU. They want more than every other week testing during preseason, and they wanted a third party to do the testing. However, they've seemed to have bacedk off of the third party demand for now.

I am glad that the Athletics Department put that statement out today, that should calm the FakeSportsNews media down a tad. There's no hope for the crazy hot mob leftys on Twitter.

Yeah, I'd imagine even without Jr's statements in the spring this would've become a story as well. It just wouldn't have had the kind of ammo that his quote provided. Jokes on them because Jr isn’t even around right now.

It was the right move to put a statement out as it will help put at ease the people that matter. You can find people on twitter mad about anything. Gotta just take it with a grain of salt.

I set up my twitter account a month after it started. In my former career, people knew right away how big it would be. Last year I quit. Place is just “the land of fruits and nuts”. Crazies.

What he also failed to clarify is that there is no NCAA mandate for pre-season testing, only guidelines, which we will now be following. At no time were we not in compliance with any actual mandated protocol. Even the initial baseline testing we did at te beginning of workouts was not required. Going forward, with daily screenings, weekly scheduled testing, and the capability to do rapid on-site testing with anyone showing any symptoms in screenings, we will be at the cutting edge.

Reading through these comments make me remember that fake news and lunacy are found on both ends of the political spectrum.

Seems to me that both Syracuse and Flordia State are both having a lot of issues on the testing protocols. If you live in a glass house you should not be throwing stones at others.

So what is there to keep a program from playing a freshman 9 games and sit out the 10th "due to covid" to protect the red shirt?
It's in the article. If they play more than 50% of the season they don't qualify and they either need to actually have gotten the virus of the team cancelled part of the season.

Hilarious. They don't represent our values yet we have the tolerance to play them! It's a football game for goodness sakes.
When SU was here last year the folks we talked to from SU were impressed with the campus and the treatment they got . . . . and no one was abused, ridiculed, evangalized or converted.

We just need to keep posting the facts and throw our weight around. We need to let them know we aren’t a cash-strapped mid-major program and we can and will test to whatever standard the ACC requires.

This was the perfect storm of elements coming together for the media to pounce on:

1) Jerry had been very outspoken about not taking covid seriously

2) Most people don’t realize the resources we have and view us as a small school

3) People like making fun of Hugh Freeze because of his ego at Ole Miss and the way he lost that job

4) The media in general doesn’t like Liberty

We have to do things above and beyond in order to have positive things said about us. The first hint at something negative and people are going to pounce. It’s not fair, but it’s the life we’re going to live for the next decade if we really want to build into a true football program people take seriously.
