Good stuff right there. My next question, assuming the trend continues toward playing....will we get to attend games? If so, what will be the percentage of capacity? Any rumblings on that? Generally, we have our tickets by now, but I certainly get it as to why we don't. Wonder how season tickets will be distributed this year?

Based on FCS and likely dates I would be shocked if we did not schedule BYU or Army. We need two more FBS teams not one. We could have cancellations so we have to schedule more than 10 games as contingency.

Below is what NC State is doing regarding tickets. Sister-in-Law got email that stated that each season ticket holder will be called and discuss their avaible options once they get a grip on things. I imagine they will start with top donors first and work their way down. That works for me since she will likely be left with LU tickets. :D

So apparently if we play 10 games 5 wins gets you a bowl game. If you play 12, you need 6. Liberty seems to want to play 10. What if 2 or 3 games are canceled due to COVID concerns? I would much rather have 12 as a contingency plan. If we are concerned the schedule is too hard, we could schedule Army, Texas State, and Marshall...all winnable. Do we even know what the bowl season will look like this year?

With B10 and PAC 12 not playing, I guess Rose Bowl is history. Which is good, in my opinion. It's the most overrated bowl game there is, most years.

I don’t disagree with you many years on the quality of the teams participating. But from a pageantry and event experience standpoint, It’s second to none. Ever been?

So, it is looking like we will have our 2 FCS opponents, which currently puts us at 9 games. Can't imagine we won't work out at least one game with BYU, and maybe one with Army. Overall, considering the games we lost were to 3 of the worst teams in FBS, it will certainly be a more challenging schedule than we started with.

If we are concerned with winnable games to get to 12 games then I would move a FCS game to Sept. 5. Then I would schedule Middle Tennessee, Texas State, and Army. If we do not want Army we could replace with Marshall.

I have a sneaking suspicion that win totals for Bowl Eligibility will be very fluid and flexible this year

Texas State makes sense to me. MTU was a bowl team last year, and would be far from easy. If we are going to play Army, I would want it as our opener to give us more time to prepare for the option.

You are so right...ESPN has a lot of the newer, made for content bowls. They will not quibble over wins/losses if they need teams to play in them. And I'm sure they carry a lot of weight with NCAA.

Haven't forgotten, but we had several weeks to prepare for that game, and while GA St. is an option team, let's face it; nobody does it like Army and Navy.

I suspect that not all of the Bowls will be played and that some may in fact hold out for the B1G, PAC12, MWC and the MAC in the theoretical spring, especially those already tied in with those conferences and those played in Democrat states. My point is this- with the uncertainty of the season much less Bowl season, our focus should first be on a quality schedule. One that fans will appreciate, the players will find memorable, and the school will benefit from (selling our brand and building relationships that we'll benefit from with scheduling and/or possible conference membership). That's why I'm against adding FCS teams beyone WCU this season. But I'm just alumni and a fan. In the long run I'll be happy with a season and hopefully a bowl game.

Middle Tennessee was not a bowl team last year. They were 4-8. As for Army they were poor last year. I would rather play them late in the year as wishbone teams tend to have lots of injuries. I have followed Army for a while and Nov 28 they will be focused on Navy.

My mistake on MTU. I clicked on the wrong link and was looking at their 2018 record.

"tend to have lots of injuries" that also holds true for the teams they play, especially the knees.

Don't know if this has been posted anywhere, but I just received word that Ohio Valley Conference has moved league games to spring, but they are allowing their schools to play 4 non conference games in the fall. Former LU opponent Jacksonville State is member of OVC.

With VMI sidelined who will UVA replace them with? If it were us could it be played in either stadium? Both in state.

It’s not like they have a lot of options

In a interview today, Coach Freeze was asked about his correspondence with McCaw about the season, and what he'd like on his schedule. The question also consist of Freeze rather wanted more P5's or games they can win. He said both, so we could get 3+ P5's either G5's with the FCS. Basivally, we may not have any more FCS as we may think we may have on schedule. More to come in the upcoming weeks

ACC rule says the plus 1 has to be played in state, right. UVA could come to Williams?
