However, there are two things he has to look at; playing time and Championships. He will start right away here at LU and he has a better chance at winning a national title. Now I know the FCS title is nothing like the FBS title, but it is still a national championship none the less. If he goes to an ACC school, or even Penn State, I think he knows he is probably not going to go the national championship. It's highly unlikely that Wake Forest, or UNC will be in the national championship any time soon and if he goes to VT or Penn State, he might have to wait a few years to start. At Liberty he would be a four year starter with his uncle doing the recruiting and calling the shots. He could get the right team built around him and he could be set up nicely for a run at the national championship.Sooooooooo many assumptions in this post. Has the "Baby Jesus" mantle really and truly fallen on the scrawny shoulders of an LCA kid?

I think most kids would take 3 years as a starter or chance to be the starter at Penn.St or VT over 4 years at LU... Mike wil be getting many more offers over the next month or so as long he doesn't make a choice..coolhandluke wrote:The only way he would come to Liberty is because of the family ties. Rocco discusses his future with Strong

Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian quarterback Mike Rocco was disappointed when Louisville fired Steve Kragthorpe last month, but this weekend he had his first opportunity to speak with newly-named Cardinals' head coach Charlie Strong and hear his plan for the future.
Doug Doughty in Roanoke Fishwrap wrote:Rocco, who passed for more than 2,000 yards in each of his sophomore and junior seasons, was injured for past of the 2009 season but not before he made an oral commitment to Louisville and then-Cardinals head coach Steve Kragthorpe. Kragthorpe was fired after the season but Charley Strong, the new coach, has honored the offer and Rocco has honored his commitment.Click Here for Full Story
That shouldn’t be a surprise because Strong is expected to announce shortly the appointment of Alabama graduate assistant Mike Groh as his quarterbacks coach. Groh was the UVa offensive coordinator at Virginia from 2005-2008 and I’m told that the Cavaliers were once close to offering Rocco, the nephew of former UVa assistant and current Liberty head coach Danny Rocco.
When Groh was pushed out and former Bowling Green head coach Gregg Brandon was brought in to coach the quarterbacks, Brandon felt that Mike Rocco was not the best fit for the Cavaliers’ new spread. So, the Cavaliers went in another direction, taking a commitment from Waynesville, N.C., quarterback Tyler Brosius before he decommitted and chose North Carolina State.

Mike Rocco
Just spoke to Liberty Christian Academy football coach Frank Rocco, who was returning to Lynchburg after accompanying his son, Mike, on a recruiting visit to Virginia this weekend.
Frank said the family would like some time to digest the Cavaliers' offer but hoped to have a decision within 24 hours.
Mike will choose between the Cavaliers and Louisville, to whom he made a commitment in late August. He is being recruited for Louisville by new Cardinals' quarterbacks coach Mike Groh, who had been involved in his earlier recruiting by UVa.
Mike Rocco (6 foot 3, 208 pounds) passed for more than 2,000 yards in his sophomore and junior seasons at LCA before a knee injury interrupted his senior year. He also has an offer from Penn State as an invited walk-on.
Lynchburg, VA - LCA quarterback Mike Rocco has changed his mind. His coach and dad Frank Rocco tells me, Mike has de-committed to Louisville and will now go to UVa. He took an official visit to Virginia this weekend and Frank tells ABC 13 Sports he and Mike have known new UVa coach Mike London for a while and it'll be a better fit for him in Charlottesville. Mike will make it official Wednesday February 3rd, on national signing day.http://www.wset.com/news/stories/0110/7 ... tml?ref=tw
