Indeed...I hope Dr Kerr doesn't read this board but I would say that if we played and HBCU, and they brought their band, we'd probably get blown out of the stadium.

In '96 I believe it was, I was in the marching band, and we went to Delaware State. We got to warm up with their band, and we played some stuff together in their bandroom. Pretty cool.

Other 90s LU football memories...(weird things that I remember).

Around 98 LU played South Florida at home...and LU was winning...a LU receiver caught a post pass, and slowed up on the way to the endzone, and SF's saftey knocked the ball out of the endzone...so instead of scoring, it was a touchback and SF started on the 20. We lost the game.

How about Karcher's first year...99 I think...I believe it was the first game...we were playing JMU, and we tried an onside kick in the first half when we were actually winning. We lost the game.

Does anyone remember the Hampton Game...Homecomming 96 or 97. We were losing by like 17 in the first half, almost went down by more...but then intercepted a screen pass near our own endzone and took it back the whole way right before the half. We lost in OT because we missed an extra point.

And then, the most unexpected play...but I think this was actually 2000...an away game at VMI. LU has the ball 4 and 13 on their own 40. We fake the punt and run with Sam Gado...he makes the first down, and we go on to win.

That was 2000. We were winning after the 1st quarter but then gave up 4 TD's in the 2nd. That's still a Bridgeforth Stadium record, I believe. We lost 38-7.

Great day. Sam actually called that play on his own. It was a play that, if he saw it, he had the green light to take but I don't think anybody besides Sam and the center knew it was coming. He and Dre were just unstoppable that day. That was actually in 2004. We won that one 38-17.
