Dacula running back Cole Brodie is a big-time talent flying under-the-radar in the class of 2007. He is still waiting for his first offer, but interest is very high for the 5-foot-10, 180 pound running back from Dacula, Ga.
"I'm still talking with Southern Miss a good bit," said Cole Brodie. "I just talked to them on the phone the other night. It's really slowed down with it being mid-season. I guess all the colleges are busy with their schedule, but I'm probably talking to about four colleges right now."
Last week, Brodie traveled to Lynchburg, Virginia to visit Liberty University.
"I really liked Liberty," said Brodie. "They made me feel very special. I really liked the atmosphere up there. Two of my teammates from last year, Wesley Cheek and Spencer Landis are playing for them. I also visited Southern Miss after the second week. I really liked it down there as well."
After missing several games with an ankle injury, Brodie has still rushed for 635 yards and seven touchdowns on the season.
"The season is going really great," said Brodie. "I struggled with a high ankle sprain in about the fourth game of the season. I've been back for the last two games. The first game I came back, I had to come out in the second half because it was still bothering me. Last Friday was my first full game back and I had a really big night."
"I played at about 90 percent against Winder-Barrow," he said. "We had to put double tape on it and a brace. It felt good through the whole game. I felt good moving around on it. This week we have a bye week, so I'm sure it will be back to 100 percent for the Loganville game. It will be good to be back."
After leading the Falcons to the semifinals of the Class 5A state playoffs in 2005, Brodie is looking for his team to do it again in 2006.
"I feel like we can," he said. "Every week, we have to show up and everybody has to play the best game they've ever played. If we just show up with our helmets on, we'll just be an average team. We have to have a good week of practice and we can't take any days off. We have to keep getting better every day if we expect to compete at that level. I think we do have the ability to get back to where we were last year."
Brodie consistently runs the 40-yard dash in the 4.5 second range. He is currently looking at three schools.
"I like Southern Miss, Liberty, and William & Mary."

Sr.-Cole Brodie (Dacula H.S.): A tough 5-10, 170lbs senior that caught my eye during the state semi-finals in the Georgia Dome against a powerful Brookwood H.S. defense when he showed a lot of toughness running the ball. “CB” busted the 1,000-yard mark last season with just over 1,200 yards and 7 touchdowns
