Obviously we are waiting to hear about the next wave of transfers, but here are the known number of scholarships available for incoming freshmen and transfers alike:
Graduating Seniors (8 ):
Ben Beasley
Darnell Edwards
Jason Horn
Weston Lambert (Walk-On)
Tyler Little (Walk-On)
Don Carlos MacWhorter (Walk-On)
Manny Rojas
Stephen Sene
Tyler Turner
Jarrett Winfrey
Now I know we will be losing a few players to attrition. But as of right now, I have not heard any names. Generally I would think it would be safe to expect around 5-6 players leave for better playing time elsewhere. Bottom line, I only see room for about 14-16 scholarships barring some unforeseen surprise. With rumors of 4-5 -players possibly coming in from nearby Bowl Subdivision schools, I have a feeling our class of incoming freshmen is about 10-12 tops. So if what we know remains true through Signing Day in February, we are likely close to done or near it.
I know some of you have better knowledge of the situation than I do. Am I close? Thoughts?
