We've had a thread on this before but it seems more finalized now. I thought we were going back to Western next year but I everyone's saying that's not for a few years. I have everything but that one away game.

In talking to Barber, he hasn't mentioned Savannah State. There's another home game that is in the works but isn't finalized. I won't say what it is because he asked me not to report anything until the contract is finalized. (It's not a big-name opponent, FWIW). You are correct on Toledo being the I-A game.

I thought that the 1A game was to be Auburn. Whatever happened to that one. Maybe 2 years from now.

it was going to be this year, but Coach Rocco changed that as soon as he came in....

We don't need to be playing Auburn.

yeah...we would get killed, it wouldn't help anything...playing a I-A MAC schools on C-USA or teams on that level is a good way to go....or lower level major conference teams like Wake...even though Wake was a good team this year, in a normal year that would be a good type of team to play....

The difference between Toledo and Auburn is a very large chunk of change. Just something to factor into the equation.

And injuries and a chance to compete the rest of the season.

No, the I-A game that Rocco killed this year was Rutgers.

That could be, but I know for sure that Rutgers was pulled after Rocco got here. Oh what a wise decision that turned out to be. Who knew Rutgers was going to have the year they're having?

Last year in convocation Jerry said we would be playing Auburn this year. So, somewhere down the line, maybe we were supposed to be playing Auburn.

Jerry says a lot of things in Convo, you shouldn't believe all of them. It WAS Rutgers and Coach wanted to drop a D1A team ASAP when he got here to help bolster confidence. I know Auburn was "in the works" but like oft happens Jerry spoke before all the facts were known. Now there WAS time we about had Alabama on the schedule, THAT would have been fun.

I would like to see a sixth home game. With attendence improving - hopefully season ticket sales on the rise - the sixth home date is a nice opportunity to gain some revenue. I assume we are not losing money on home games anymore given the attendance this year. That said, as we get more competitive - I like the idea of taking the "pay day" games. but as stated earlier - a trip to AU this year or next - would not be best for the program even if they are giving us serious $$$ to go play them.

The Auburn thing never panned out. Harrisburg, the remaining game will likely be a home game against a I-AA team, Barber said.

So are we saying SSU is out so there are two more games at home we don't know?

This is what I have nailed down for public knowledge. Excuse me covering my tail a little bit here and not naming exact schools in certain places.

DII school (read SJ's post ... he's right on which one)
I-AA school (can't name it yet)
Another I-AA ... (it could very well be Savannah, I think Rocco likes that series, but I haven't heard that it's concrete yet)

Away
Charleston Southern
Gardner-Webb
I-A (Again, SJ is right on which I-A it is)

Paul mentioned Toledo during the game broadcast the other day and said it looked like Glenville would be coming back as well.

Is it possible we're hosting that classic at the beginningof the year again? Perhaps a MEAC or CIAA team could be in the mix.

WE WERE SUPPOSED TO PLAY SOUTH FLORIDA, RUTGERS, AND WAKE FOREST THIS YEAR IF KARCHER HAD STAYED BUT ROCCO FELT THAT PLAYING THREE 1-A TEAMS WASNT A GOOD THING TO DO SO HE KEPT WAKE FOREST.
