Will someone please watch the 700 Club at 11 p.m. on ABC Family? I know that the show is basically as irrelevant as can be, but if I have to work 15 hours today for this stupid show, I'd like to know that at least one person watched.

I'm not sure how much I can take...especially with FOX News playing up all the anti-McCain palaver.

Tonight's a great night to grab a movie.

As someone who spent a great deal of time in news, I can tell you that the newsies care way too much about election coverage. Its their rare chance to act like sportscasters and they can't get enough of it. But I admit I always enjoyed the free pizza.

Ed stated his employer by context in his post.

I have to tell you that as much as I'd like to sit through 700 Club, I just can't do it without dozing. But since I don't have blue hair I don't think I am in CBN's target demographic. That said, the stories you guys put together tend to be well done.

Thanks Sly. There's an urban legend going around here that's pretty much appropriate for these days... Back in 2000, before I started working here, CBN did a live show at 11 p.m. on election day. It was late and every one was pretty frustrated with having to work, when one disgruntled grunt started complaining that no one was watching, and how our audience was tuning into FOX, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, FOX NEWS, CBS, the Internet, PBS, or whatever station... and not the 700 Club.

Unbenownst to him, an upper-level Vice President was standing behind him... and the VP rolled his eyes, shrugged his shoulders, and said, "you know that, and i know that... but neither of us happens to be the one that signs the paychecks."

Long story short, if Pat Robertson wants it......

Ed - Did anyone there at CBN News remember a guy named David Lescaleet? He was a weird dude who I worked with in Corpus Christi 15 years ago shortly before he left for Va Beach.

I'll watch Ed.

Huckabee is doing very well. Funny it was supposed to be a two person race, who knew it was between McCain and Huckabee.

That was a freaking disaster. Pat changes his mind 10 minutes before the show, then changes his mind DURING the show, so we don't have the video he's referring to -- and none of our reporters were smart enough to have the audio from the candidates turned on... so when we went live to, say, John McCain -- we don't hear him.

Disaster. Thankfully, no one watched. Except you, Kel.

Must have missed that part. I went to bed after about 20 or 30 minutes. Pat did look very tired.

He's an old man up way too late ... that's a bad combination.

As for crews in the field at campaign headquarters forgetting to mic the podium, it happens all the time. Repoprters are focused on themselves and not necessarily the event. Imagine that.
