This Chinese lady came into the store today (I work at Sherwin-Williams) and asked me what a bucket grid was for. I told her it was roll the excess paint off her roller cover. She then said "I can tell you don't know and you're just guessing, let me speak to a manager."

Then a guy comes and asks for some powder to put in his paint. What kind of powder are you looking for? "I don't know man, ain't you got some kinda powder I can put in my paint to make it look like chocolate milk?" "No, we have to put colorant in it and mix it." "Oh, well, you got some chocolate milk looking paint I can buy? Some that's already a milky brown?" "Naw man, it's all white, we can tint it to make it look like a brown color." "I think you're lying, I know ya'll got some kind of chocolate milk powder."

A lady called up and how much a Pizza Burger was, told her it was $5.95, and she went ballistic, because her husband came in and ate one and btween that and a drink it came up to 9 bucks, he paid and left. She told me I was lying because "No one would pay 6 bucks for just a burger." Even though I tried to explain that it is a half a pound burger and its good meat and we are on the high side of prices, she continued to demand that she speak to the owner.

When I worked for Lowes, I met a lot of people who scared me. People trying to wire their own homes, using 16-gauge wire. People who didn't understand that dryer operate on 220, not 110 ("why can't I just use a regular extension cord on my dryer?").

And don't even get me started on people buying power tools. I really shouldn't have sold tools to some of these people -- I often wonder how many people have had to be rushed to the hospital because I sold them a recip. saw.

I'm a server at a pizza joint...lady said the service wasnt great (on a all you can eat night) I told the lady the service had to be decent b/c she ate 6 pieces of pizza and 4 cokes, and she ate more than I could, so it had to be good. I lost my job the next day

Let's face it there are idiots on both sides. People who work retail have to serve some customers who are unreasonable. Those of us who shop of eat have to deal with service personnel who STINK. I am sick of going to the store and hearing two cashiers holler back and forth about when they are taking their break or leaving or what ever. I've heard many cashiers say that they "can't believe they had to work tonight" or "I can't wait to leave". To those folks I say you stink and get a grip.

See, I worked there about 8 years ago, back when they actually trained people. Of course, I also worked in Atlanta, where Lowes was trying to trash Home Depot in their backyard. We did a lot of things there that they don't do corporately -- like pay well, train people ....

If you actually need help in a Lowes store anymore, go talk to one of the vendors (brown aprons, VENDOR in big letters on the back). They're usually better trained.

i actually take that back now that i think about it....a guy helped me and kept me from spreading industrial carpet glue all over my basement floor....he had on a brown apron.

he told me "ooooohhh no you don't want to do that....just do the outline of the room and a one line down the center and then 5 lines going the other way"...

whew that would of been a pain...
