If/when the wide/full/touch-screen iPod is released, I will upgrade. My 3rd generation iPod reached capacity a few months ago, but I refuse to get a new one until this rumor is squashed one way or another.

The full screen iPod will come down the pike, apparently there were some initial issues that needed to be worked out, plus the speculation is that iPod wants to have a contract agreement in place with the major movie distributors for iTunes before launching.

The 120 GB is probably more reality than rumor as the Korean company that makes the flash memory has already made a 120 GB version. (Plus, Korea, where most of the memory technology is produced, is light years ahead of the US in terms of bells and whistles on electronic gadgets. For instance they already have camera phones with 10 megapixels, tv on cell, etc. I sat next to a Korean pastor on the way to visit some family this past summer and he was telling me all about the cool gadgets they have that dwarf the US product rollouts. Incidentally, this guys son, who lived with his sister in Rhode Island, was set to attend LU this fall---small world.)

I believe it will come eventually, too. It's just a question of how "on" the rumors are. I've been following Apple rumors since before there was an iPod, and when the analysts say something is so, it means absolutely nothing. I've seen the accuracy of rumors based on analyst predictions (which is what these are) vary anywhere from 0-90%, but they never get them 100%. Mr. Jobs is much too good at guarding his secrets for a full-leak to ever be a problem.

It's true about Korea's tech stuff being light years ahead of the US. Whenever I go back to the States it cracks me up that all the "new" stuff was last year's stuff or older here in Korea. The states has a lot of catching up to do in this area.
