Sorry this is starting more than a third into they year but im sure there are plenty of films still to discuss. I'm intrigued by X-Men: Days of Future Past for sure...I read its a real turning point for Young Mystique and a couple others

Along with Days of Future Past, I'd have to say Amazing Spiderman 2, Godzilla, Neighbors, 22 Jump Street, A Million Ways to Die in the West, Guardians of the Galaxy, Mockingjay Part 1, and The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies.

This has been such a crappy movie year. Anchorman 2 has been my favorite thus far, and I didn't even think it was that great compared to the first one.

Amazing Spiderman 2 is the only movie I'm looking forward too. I'd say the Hobbit too, but I've been very un-impressed with the Hobbit movies. They haven't done to me what Star Wars 1-2-3 did, but they've felt forced and uninteresting.

Next year is going to be the best movie year in a decade. Star Wars 7, Bond 24, Avengers 2, Jurassic World, Fantasic Four, Terminator, Peanuts, Mission Impossible 5, Silver Chair(maybe?).

I thought anchorman 2 was awful and i loved the first one..think that came out in 2013 though. I enjoy all the super hero, epic movies..but can we get some movies like braveheart, glory, and gladiator anymore??

The First Hobbit nearly put me to sleep but the second was good and nowhere near the atrocity that was the Star Wars Prequels. And next year...I'm already planning when to see those.

splitting it into more than 1 movie was the problem. i'm a huge tolkien junky and while i still enjoy every minute of it, i still feel like 3 movies was completely unecessary. i think they could of just made it 2 and still included most things that were of importance. the brooding love story, the politics of lake town, the azog/bolg clustermess and others are just filler to draw out a 3 hour movie into like 8 hours of story. i do enjoy the interpretation of gandalf's dissapearing and reappearing throughout the books and i think are necessary to draw a connection beyond the ring into the lord of the rings.

i'm looking forward to Edge of Tommorrow. Its a co-workers favorite graphic novel and he has talked about it for years.

I have the book but haven't read it yet. It's on my bucket list of stuff to read. Unfortunately when I look at all the stuff I have to read, I realize that the chance of me getting all of it read before I die are scant, and I don't even turn 30 until August.

That trailer is outstanding, however. When it comes out, I might actually fork out the 8 bucks or however much it costs to get reamed at a movie theater these days.

I read about this story (going to India to try and make a couple cricket players into pitchers) a few years ago. I think they were in the Pirates organization. It's not that exciting.

It's Disney they are going to take a crap load of creative licenses to make the story compelling.

Saw Godzilla today with some friends. REALLY GOOD, a lot better than the disgrace that was the 1998 remake.
Agreed. I was. Surprised it was such a sympathetic creature.

Although I never got used to Bryan Cranston having hair.

Got to see the new X-men over the weekend. It was alright. Everything was completely predictable. And half of it didn't make sense in light of the previous movies.

The after-credits scene shows Apocolypse, though, which should promise good things for the next one. The problem is, they've screwed with the timeline so much, they've basically eliminated some great storylines. With Apocolypse being next, they need to have Angel become Archangel, that would be movie perfection. But, they can't, because they basically wasted the Angel character in 'Last Stand'. Okay, [/nerd-rant].

But, ended the weekend well by watching 'Once Upon a Time in the West' on Netflix. I remember watching it as a kid on tv, and it was better than I remember.

I actually enjoyed it, and because of what Wolverine did in 1973 the first three X-Men movies never happened. So the timeline screw-ups are fixed which means we could still get Archangel.

Preferred Godzilla to X-Men

Fringe benefit of my new territory. There's a movie theater behind the hotel. Yes. I bought the refillable popcorn bucket!

I forgot about this thread but, Edge of Tomorrow was total crap terrible story with a ridiculous amount of plot holes and the aliens looked like they were ripped off of Aliens and every actor not named Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt or Brendan Gleeson(who had a very small part) were just terrible. But my faith in movies this summer was restored with 22 Jump Street, I was laughing for almost all of the movie.

Disagree I loved it! It did exactly like you expected. Cruise wasn't wooden in his acting which is even better
