OK, I took the plunge, since I couldn't wait for Palm to finally release the Pre (heard some interesting information from the store manager at the Sprint store about the Pre, BTW --> it had been planned to release with the Treo Pro, but the allegations of patent infringement by Apple have delayed it a bit, is what he said). I am now the proud owner of a Crackberry Curve.

I've got Twitterberry on it already, Google Mobile apps, and Qik for the video camera. Now I'm looking around for some "must have" apps for this thing, and I'm relying on the Crackberry professionals on FlameFans to help me out.

What is on your Blackberry that you cannot live without?

Viigo has the best reader for BlackBerry IMHO. HMO swears by Vlingo but I need to get an expansion card to find space on my phone.

I like where. You can get it at where.com. Some of it's functions are still being built though so if you're looking for movie times, look elsewhere. A similar one to that is Poynt, which is pretty popular. I also like Viigo like Sly mentioned. Tetherberry is a way to tether your laptop your your BB without having to pay for the service through your wireless plan. It's a $50 app though and it's not transferrable to another device if you get a new one.

I prob will get a Pre to play with for a while but I want to wait until the build up their app's

make sure you download these things:

Opera Mini - the BB browser is useless and opera is much better
BBweather 0.84 the icon looks straight off an Iphone..very sweet (google it lots of articles about it)
the new update from sprint - gives you better options and doc's to go
ESPN Mobile web
Facebok
Google Maps
Google Mobile App
Google Sync - if you wanna sync your outlook from your desktop
Quicktext
Twitterberry
Tellme - great app from Microsoft similar to what LUconn recommended
Vlingo - if you dont try this you should be shot...speak your text's, emails whatever you want and it types it for you!!! FREE

Thanks for the tips!

Yes, I do have Sprint, so I'll be checking out what they have there. I've got Google Mobile and Google sync (so I can sync my Google calendar with my BB calendar), and the Facebook ap. I'll be checking out the others later today.

OK, here's what I've got so far:

Pandora
Flickr
OneVersion (Bible software linked to their web site - 37 translations for free)
Twitterberry (natch)
Qik (haven't played with this much yet, but anticipate using it in the not too distant future)
5ud0ku (pretty decent free Sudoku game)
All the Google stuff (maps, talk, gmail, sync)
Viigo (messed up when I registered it, and put my Blackberry email as .com rather than .net, so I'll have to reinstall and re-register)
I had Facebook and MySpace on it, but don't really use them (though I may end up using the Facebook app.)
Haven't downloaded the tethering software yet - I figure I can do that when I need it.

I really like Sprint Navigation. Used it really for the first time today, and it's pretty easy to use. Especially handy is the whole "Search this area" thing, especially if you're looking for Chinese restaurants in a new city (like I was today at lunchtime).

I never thought I'd get into the whole "smartphone" thing; in fact, I made fun of someone about a year or so ago for getting one. But, like video on my iPod, now that I've got it, I like it.
