Looking like a Hurricane Party at Sly's next weekend.

Seriously, Sly...I pray for you and all the folks having to prepare all along the Gulf Coast, once again. Perhaps it will weaken further than expected as it passes through the length of Cuba. Please keep us posted on the preps in your area.

I think it must be a confusion of Castro with the district in San Francisco of the same name. We all know natural disasters are directed at the gay population...

This storm is going to be VERY BAD for the people of Cuba. Without the difficulties created by a storm, the lives of its people can already be described as a daily struggle. The majority of the infrastructure on the archipelago struggles to remain stable during a mere tropical storm, however, a Category 4 hurricane will devastate the lives of many people. I spoke with a really good friend of mine this afternoon that lives in the city of Ciego de Avila in central Cuba. They are preparing for high winds and rain to begin at approximately 4am. There are many faithful Christians that live in Cuba. Please keep them in your prayers.

We've already been watching this storm for several days. When you live along the Gulf coast, this time of year is one of constant preparedness.

This storm has the potential to be a monster. It certainly is for Cuba right now. It will likely weaken considerably if it stays on its current path over the island. I'm defeinitely praying for those in Cuba this evening. This could be massively devastating. And while it would be easy to joke about Castro ties, it is not the folks who live on the island who are making the bad decisions. They are just living with the consequences.

It slipped back into the Caribbean allowing it to keep much of its strength and now they are beginning to narrow its path through the Gulf ...

Based on current conditions it is aiming straight for the old stomping grounds of both Tally & I ... Corpus Christi. But it should be noted that 1 out of 3 hurricanes make landfall outside of the cones of probability 3 or more days out. It could suddenly change directions at any time.

If it does indeed head south of us following a similar track as Dolly last month, we will get wet in Houston. But South Texas could really get hammered.

Uh oh, Sly...
...the latest (8 PM Tues) track has it further up the Texas coast north of Corpus Christi.

Yeah, it looks like we'll probably get wet. They are starting evacuations of those with special needs from Galveston tomorrow as a precaution. It could still bend far enough north to be a hazard to GulfTX and yours truly.

Every update becomes worse news for the Sly Fox den. It is not that we are in any imminent danger but that we are likely to be greatly affected by the storm.

I used to live down near Rockport that you are hearing about as the projected path of landfall right now. It is a cool little seaside town.

I'll be praying for you. The trend is not good for Houston. Did you evacuate with Rita? How did that go?

We stayed and my parents evacuated Galveston County and came up to our place since we are away from the coast. We're doing the same thing for Ike with my parents and my niece & nephews arriving Thursday night.

But if you don't and all ya'll live, (and I will be praying ya'll do and that your property is also spared) then remember:

We are not in an evacuation zone. When you see maps of Houston on the news or Weather Channel, we are located on the NW side of town. Sandman is on the West side of town and GulfTX is own in Galveston County. GulfTX is evacuating later today but we are staying at our place.

I am spending the day getting the house ready for the storm. Those of you from Florida know what I mean. But we are not boarding up the house since we are so far away from the coast.

As long as I have electricity or mobile service I will keep you guys in the loop.

Yesterday I went to Sam's and there were little truckloads & truckloads of bottled water. We've loaded up appropriately. We have enough food to operate without for several days.

Hopefully God does what he did with Rita a few years ago and weakens the storm at the last minute and it turns it away from urban areas. But we are prepared in case that turns out to not be.

Sly...Youtube video is always appreciated. You can be a regular Jim Cantore. Of course, if you REALLY want to be BIG TIME...

...a picture with STEPHANIE ABRAMS with you wearing your FlameFans tee-shirt would be brilliant!

I doubt she strolls by my home. But if she does, I'm taking acre of your request.

Our part of Houston is a shelter in place section. Only the low-lying areas closer to the coast are being evacuated right now. That may change by tomorrow morning.
