I was thinking this might be one of those things where you don't think much of it at the time, except that it annoys you, but later we find out a reasonable explanation. Like what if we're not in the time we think we are. What if it's further in past and it was destroyed before they got to the island. I don't really think that's the case but it could be something like that.

the hatch was blown up in the past???

oh and how about that....not one answer....not one thing we didn't already know or were 99% sure of.

was still a great episode though....but only because of sayid...

i'm officially on smokemonsters side btw...

I was pleased with that episode only because I pretty much knew their were gonna be no answers. I think next week's will be pretty good though. That's what I'm banking on. One thing that has bothered me about Sayid is that he's some invincible bad mama jama with james bond like moves but he was freaking in the Iraqi Republican Guard. Those were the same guys that the US steam rolled in a matter of like a day. LOST way overrates Iraqis.

Strange thought came to my mind today- What if the smoke monster's name is Esau?

Meh, probably not. Whatever.

If you listen to Jay and Jacks Lost Podast, they have named him that since last year when he made his first appearance. One of their theories right now is that Jacob and Essau are the same person...one of the reasons we still don't know his name yet.

I am just curious to see what you guys think. I really like where this season is going. I have gotten over the "we need answers now!" thoughts. Carlton and Damon have already said that there is no way they will be able to answer all the questions....so I am curious, what questions are important for you to be answered by the end of the year.

Here are some I thought of:

- Who are Adam and Eve, especially because when Jack found them originally, they had black and white stone with them
- Who was on the Black Rock, what was its purpose, and how did it get so far inland
- Who/what are the whispers
- How did Dharma get all their food drops? Who sent them?
- Everybody's Powers
- Walt
- Miles
- Hurley
- Desmond
- Locke getting healed

I will be curious to see what you think.

They said that? That's awful. Everybody has watched this show for the past 6 years trusting that the writers were clever enough to have everything make sense. That makes them bad writers in my opinion. Like they're trying to get us to feel bad for them. "there's too many unanswered questions for us to answer!" Well maybe you shouldn't have written yourself into this mess. I remember the first few seasons, they even claimed everything could be explained at least by a psuedo-science. We went well beyond that many seasons ago. I think that will pretty much make this show have VERY low rewatchability. By the summer, I better know why Ethan has superhuman strength.

agreed....

there are tremendous lost nerds on the internet with a list of every lost question there is. as far was rewatchability you are correct. if everyone knows that they just threw crap in there that will never make any sense, i'll probably never rewatch any of it and advise anyone who has not seen it, to never watch it either.

meanwhile you'll have the casual fan who is like "just appreciate it for what it is" and to those people i say "jump off a bridge gaylord"

How does Jakob keep the island hidden?
Why couldn't Desmond escape the island when he got that boat?
I still don't get the timeline that allows the guy who was pushing the buttons (who Desmond killed and replaced) to also recruit and use Sayid. And who was in charge of him?
How did the original Others get to the island (Widmore and his crew)?
How did the Dharma people find the island?
How does Ethan hit a guy with a bus and not get arrested?
Frank Lupidus
Miles
Walt
Who was it that broadcasted the numbers over the transmission?
Explain the supply drop.
The numbers still aren't fully explained. Okay, they correlate to people, but why did they get typed into a computer?

There are so many more, but I can't remember everything in one sitting.

And all of those questions at the time were mind blowing.

I remember when they had that supply drop from Dharma. I was like "OMG! THIS IS A GAME CHANGER!!!" I'm sure if I were to go back after the series is over when I got to that part I'd be like "OMG! THIS IS COMPLETELY POINTLESS AND UNEXPLAINABLE!!!!"

The only thing that was kinda answered last night is who is on the good guy/ bad guy teams. other than that, zilch was cleared up for me.

We know that "candidate" means candidate to replace Jacob. I think that was just speculation before last night. I actually thought Jacob would come back to life at some point and the candidacy was for some kind of Richard-like helper. I was VERY relieved that Richard didn't die and that he's sorta back on task. He's one of the best characters on the show. It's interesting all of the different times confused characters have talked with him, and we as the audience get frustrated with them for not getting more answers from him. But it turns out, he doesn't really know anything either. And if he of all people, is clueless about what is going on, then really only evil-Locke and dead-Jacob know what is going on.

One thing I'm having trouble doing is connecting the separate time lines with one another. I don't see any relevance to the alternate time line off the island at all. That seems like something pretty major that they'll pull together eventually though. But on that same note, I figured all history was the same in both time lines UNTIL the nuclear explosion, which changed everything for everybody from that point forward. However last night we find out Ben and his dad got off left the island at some point when from what we know, they were on the island when it went off. How could that change? Could they have left after the explosion? Maybe it wasn't an explosion at all, and something happened to sink the island a few years later or something.

Yeah, I can't tell where they're going with the supposed "flash-sideways" (though it's really not sideways at all).

One thing I'm coming to realize, though, is the the man-in-black-un-Locke actually tells the truth. This whole season I just assumed he's lying to everyone to manipulate them, so I wasn't really sure what was happening. But really, he hasn't been lying, and everything he says seems to be confirmed the next week in the 8:00 rerun info-episodes.

I think he is lying to Ben now. He told Ben to come with him to the Hydra Station and he could stay behind to run/protect the island. Of course that is something Ben has always wanted, but Ben is not a candidate. In fact, Linus was written on the dial in the Lighthouse and it was crossed off....obviously could have been his dad, but either way, it does not appear at all that Ben is a candidate to be in charge of the island.

He also told Sawyer that the island is nothing at all...nothing important, does not need protecting....so, who is he lying to? Somebody....

his first part was dead on and how i feel. as far as not getting the questions answered is "not what the show is about" that is the most cork on the fork retarded thing i've ever heard....

i keep watching because it is good tv. but i no longer care about the "answers" anymore because they've gone beyond ridiculousness.

oh and ck is an idiot and Spin was one of the worst magazines ever.

It really is amazing. I'm 90% sure we actually know what the island is. That's huge. Now a big question, IF the island is indeed the cork in the wine bottle of evil, where is the evil in the alternate time line where the island is sunk?

SEE YA IN ANOTHA LIFE BROTHA!

That episode cleared so much up for me, it now feels like I am no longer guessing what the heck is going on and I can get excited about where the actual plot is going from here. Only 7 episodes to go.

Damon and Carlton just released the name of the finale episode. It is really telling and gives us all kinds of clues to what we will see in the finale.....it is titled "The End"

Not kidding...they announced it on the Official Lost Podcast.

They also said there is no hidden meaning at all, unlike LA X. It is just simply "The End"

My question...with a 2 hour finale, will it be The End, Part I and Part II?

Crap! There is no way you could get Desmond alive back to that island. I'm not buying it.
