it was a solid movie though and entertained me..so can't really complain...I just expected it to be better I guess

I never could get past how he could remember that he has no memory in memento.
Sometimes there's a difference between knowing and remembering.

I agree. Can't wait to see that one. Hopefully they will do a good job with it

I keep hearing The Other Guys is funny but gets too political and preachy. Anyone seen Dinner for Schmucks? It has so much potential, I hope it's good.

I'm going to see The Other Guys tomorrow. I'm hoping what you're hearing is wrong but wouldn't be surprised if it's not.

It did have a little political undertone to it. Most of it had to do with the bailout from Obama regarding companies that took and it still paid out millions in bonuses and salaries, even though they were killing our economy.

I saw The Other Guys opening night and it was wicked funny. It really started getting political as the credits started rolling and they started talking about the bailout and stuff so I mean it wasn't too big of a deal.

I saw it this past weekend and it was a funny movie...not exactly what I expected...and probably not as funny as I had hopped, but I left entertained

i watched grownups a few weeks ago. i chuckled in a few parts but it was mostly forced jokes and totally unworthy of circa 90's sandler/sneider/spade....james was ok, rock is terrible at acting...his standup stopped being funny 8 years ago as well.

I've been reading all these reviews about Get Low, but I can't find a theatre within 100 miles that is showing it, starring Rober Duval and Bill Murray. If it ever comes to central Virginia, somebody please PM me.

Thanks to Green Monkey's PM about Get Low showing at the historic, 1930s-era Grandin Theatre in Roanoke, I drove an hour to see the Sunday Matinee today, and absolutely loved the film.

Since the movie was set in the Depression Era Deep South, seeing the film at the Grandin made it that much better. If it never makes it to the 'burg, then it's worth the drive to the Star City.

Robert Duvall, Bill Murray, & Sissy Spacek highlight the cast about an old hermit from backwoods Tennessee who wants to have a "Funeral Party," and Bill Murray as the wise-cracking but broke funeral director is happy to oblige.

I'm planning to see Machete this weekend. Been looking forward to it since the fake Grindhouse trailers. Hopefully Tarantino will make one soon.

I want to see 'Legend of the Guardians' real bad. It looks amazing. Maybe I need to start reading children's novels again.

Anyone see 'The Town' yet? It's got amazingly high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes (of course, so does 'Easy A', so I'm not sure what that says).

RT is sort of flawed in the sense that it's giving you the percentage of people that thought it was good vs bad. Not how good or how bad. I think you've got to also use metacritic and compare the 2, to get a good idea of just how good or bad something is.

That looks like a blast. But it had me at the first appearance of Aishwarya Rai.

I love Indian cinema. They know how to entertain.

The Town was great! Ben Affleck is really a solid director now. If you like Scorsese movies or just gritty crime dramas in general, you should definitely check it out.

I agree, The Town was great. The two movies I've seen that Affleck wrote and directed, The Town and Gone Baby Gone, were both excellent. Add his co-writing of Good Will Hunting to the mix and it's obvious he has an enormous amount of talent. I've never been a huge fan of him a an actor but he was good in The Town.

Saw 'Legend of the Guardians' over the weekend. The story was alright, but the visuals were spectacular. The use of slow-motion was perfect, and the 3-D made for some amazing scenes.

Also, one note in movie news. Chris Nolan has been working on the next Superman as writer and producer, and now he's named a director: Zac Snyder. This could be a very good thing for Superman.

Superman is too boring of a character. Oh look nothing can harm him. Oh wait, that guy has kryptonite. I hope somebody else gets it away from him.
