One of the things that rankles me about some fundamentalist types (and it obviously goes both ways according to Tyer's description of Maher) is the arrogance that is often evident. I find it humorous that one can, on one hand, say we don't know the depths of the wonders of God, and then be so doggedly sure of certain doctrines that they have adopted. I say adopted because most have developed their firm stance based on what they have learned from others, and also note that I said most, and not all; I don't want to be accused of painting with a broad brush!
