Yeah, in the original, it was mind-blowing when they tore the face of the first visitor, revealing the reptile-dude underneath. No one expected that. But in this new one, they are developing MUCH better storylines and sub-plots that deal with some really cool and original stuff.

I agree with a lot of what was said. Like the general premise of the show, but things just happened way too quickly.

Scene 1: Everybody in fear. Visitors have arrived. Nobody knows what the heck is going on.
Scene 2: Taking friendly tours up to the Visitors ship.

I like the jabs at Obama, but wish they would be a little more subtle. "You are talking about universal healthcare?!?!" At least make us think about it. I also wish they would have waited a while before they revealed the Visitors that were already there... but these are the guys from Lost so I'm going to have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Have a feeling the reviews will be pretty bad. The press and the media aren't quite ready for a critique of Obama just yet. You saw what happened when SNL dared to actually make fun of him. I'm sure CNN is fact-checking the first episode of V as we speak.

I'll be tuning in next week though.

Actually, every review has been great except for one, the NYT review.

One thing that might not be favorable to this series is that it is just going to be four episodes and then take a huge break until the spring. They did that with Lost for one season and nobody liked it.

I think that's Scott Wolf, of Party of Five fame. Former costar of Lost's Matthew Fox.

I thought it was okay, but may have worked better as a two-hour premiere. Some of the acting wasn't very good, but the most recognizable players (the Firefly/Lost/24/4400 alums) did well. It will be interesting to see how they maintain the momentum generated by how much was revealed in the pilot.
