That happened to my phone. I had to buy an external battery charger. It works, but it sucks not having a phone while the battery charges.

Well....no, thanks for exposing my inferiority. My posting status on this topic is acknowledged. I'll shut up now.

Oh, yeah? Well, my krzr was chewed up by a dog and then thrown into the wash with my jeans after that same dog peed on them. Suffice to say, I've been using a loaner phone from a friend.

Somehow I had a warranty of some kind on my phone and they replaced it for free (my guess is they snuck the charge during one of the times we changed our plan ... but I'm glad they did).

So now I'll sit back and watch the reviews of the Niagara to decide if I jump in or wait until the next batch of phones come out for Christmas.

What makes the Niagara better to you than the Bold? The fact that it's on Verizon and not AT&T?

Much thinner with same cool keyboard. It also is expected to have a couple of surprises. I like th Bold but if I can get all of the positives of that model in a thinner package then I am interested.

Wouldn't that be the 8900? Of course, that's old news now, too.

and everyone i know with an iphone talks about how great it will be once the new updates come out...then they do and then they start talking about how great it will be when the NEXT update comes out...

The 8900 is a GSM phone, and doesn't have 3G. It's on my list, along with the Nokia E71, which is an amazing device, but only available unlocked at about $350. The Niagra is going to be a CDMA phone, smaller than the Bold but bigger than the 8900, with all the features of the Bold plus maybe a few more.

Sorry for the delay- but it does, thank you.

(I didn't even have to pay extra for that.)

I am still amazed at how much time and effort goes into designing/marketing a product that essentially is only needed to SPEAK to someone briefly on your way to or from work, shopping, school etc.

There isn't a time in my day where I'm not enroute TO a place that has a computer with internet access, or I'm already AT a place with a computer/internet access. Why on earth do you need to be on the INTERNET in the CAR or WALKING DOWN THE STREET? Do you people run Morgan Stanley in your spare time?

People forget you probably don't need to be LIVING on your PHONE. Hows about turning it OFF and talking to people, face to face? What a concept!

Half the people I know don't even look at each other when speaking anymore- they have a freakin' cell phone in their hand and they're typing and scrolling - all you get from them is "mmmmhmmm, yup........ yeah......."

Meanwhile, all they're REALLY doing is following Puff Daddy on friggin' Twitter.

you guys are stupid. Why would you not want to have the internet in your pocket 24/7? If my wife has a pile of clothes she wants to try on in Old Navy, I can surf around a little. You 2 are stuck trying to entertain yourself with their basket of Old Navy soccer balls while contemplating why Old Navy even sells them. I can compare local gas prices in 5 seconds instead of driving around looking. I can get coupons for free movies out of RedBox if I happen to see one. I also take pictures of strange or interesting things that I see and upload them for the world to enjoy with me. Or at least the 20 or so people that follow me. I certainly don't need to do any of this, but it certainly beats making small talk with a stanger in line at walmart (who I most likely wouldn't like if I did know them) like medic has to.

- theres a huge discrepency in gas prices in your area?...around here stations that sell it cheap ALWAYS are cheaper.

agreed on the first 2, I don't have a camera on my phone and don't need one, and I don't talk to strangers- I just glare at them menacingly so they stay away from my kids.

hike up the friggin' skirt LUconn, you Sally. You've been emasculated.

Congratulations, you 2 have reached the era of your lives where you don't accept technology. You at least seem to understand it, but I'm not sure that makes you any less "surly old man". I'm sure you guys sleep well at night knowing in your heart that this fad will pass like pet rocks and slap bracelets.

i fully embrace necessary technology. and being that i'm in the industry i actually have a pretty good first hand knowledge of alot of it.

i am always after top of the line and will generally always be fairly dickish and elitist about it at times.
