I've been impressed with it so far.

Do you have the standard or amplified model? Was it an improvement over regular antennas?

I got the standard one. I do have an amplified model for another TV (it's a Terk, and does a good job inside). Compared to the amplified Terk, the non-amplified "Leaf" does nearly as good of a job and much better than other non-amplified antennas I have tried. Makes me wonder if the amplified version would be even better than the Terk. Stands to reason that it would be, but I don't know. I also like this one because it doesn't take up any space and is easier to move around than bulkier antennas.

Thanks LUminary, I may try one. Definitely would look better than the rabbit ears I have draped over the antlers on the wall right now. Told the wife it was temporary...a couple months ago  I was planning to get an outdoor antenna, but if this does the job, forget that.

Rabbit ears works for those who live close to strong signals. If not, I'd recommend an amp. Got one for my TV, work well, even pick up Richmond channels from time to time, as well as WXII in Greensboro (though I got them pretty well in analog too).

In Evington, if you want to pick up Raleigh or Richmond stations I'd chose an outdoor antenna. If you just want Roanoke/Lynchburg, just get an RCA indoor antenna with amp.

In Lynchburg, I tried several different indoor antennae and never could get more than 2 channels. I couldn't tell any difference when I got an amplified one either. I think my townhouse and some weird signal blocking monster in it.

Could be the way you have it pointed. I live close enough to Roanoke that I can point it towards Lynchburg and get Roanoke's channels. Point it towards Roanoke (which is in the same way 13 and 21 come from anyway) and you should be good to go.

Did indeed add a Roku to my collection. I like. Ready for some MLB in the bedroom, although if I recline I won't make it through any west coast games.

I grew up a Mariner's fan, living on the West Coast. I have to be honest… it is hard for me to follow baseball on the east coast. I am use to watching the final 3-4 innings of games after work. A 7PM start against the Yankees is 4PM in Seattle. West Coast games are COMPLETELY out of the question now. :(

Learned alot in this thread. Thanks!

I diteched Time Warner a couple months ago cause I got tired of paying their monthly fees for such a puny channel lineup. Have had no tv for 60 days and its been fine but getting tired of it. Now looking for alternatives. Living in a remote area gives me few over the air choices even with digital converter. I may have to give in and get an outdoor antenna but I'm trying to avoid the cost/hassle if I can.

Downloaded XBMC to my computer and now am able to get around my ISP blocking ESPN3. I now get everything espn has to offer online which is a lot these days. Now I really have no reason to ever get cable again. Most sports that aren't on network tv is on espn or espn3.

I am thinking about getting that antenna that someone posted earlier and see how it works. I get quite a few channels already with the one I have so we'll see.

Stupid question, but I don't feel like looking it up. How do I stream espn3 to my TV? My TV has a few widgets (Netflix, APrime, Pandora, etc), but not a browser. I have a Wii, but not an Xbox. Does it have to be a DLNA thing? That would suck, because my wifi router doesn't support that.

unless your tv comes out with a firmware update or your wii supports it eventually, you'd have to go roku or dvd player. or hook a pc up to your tv.
