I know there are a few Oasis fans on here, so they might find this interesting. They're getting a little creative with the release of their upcoming album "Dig Out Your Soul".
Today they're arranging for four different street musicians to play some of the unreleased tracks on the streets of NYC. And looking at the list of musicians who will be participating, I definitely want to see some of these performances, which will be filmed.

Friday September 12th will see street musicians performing four new tracks from 'Dig Out Your Soul'. At various locations in the city, including Grand Central Station and Times Square, the songs 'Bag It Up', 'The Turning', '(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady' along with forthcoming single 'The Shock Of The Lightning' will be performed by acts ranging from 'Shred Violin' to 'Double Bass Rock'.Also, they're releasing the songbook for the album online next week. The album doesn't come out for another month.
The day of street performances ties in with the Oasis Songbook which goes live next Tuesday. Fans from around the world will have the opportunity to download the sheet music and vocal melodies of the four tracks then submit their renditions via YouTube to be in with the chance of winning a trip to see Oasis play at any gig around the world. UK fans can also buy a collector's version of the songbook which goes on sale with next week's NME.It's nice to see a band do something different every now and then. Now, as a fan, I hope their music gets a little more creative this time.
