Jeff Taylor Sr. had been throwing batting practice for his son since Jeff Jr. was in youth league in Asheville, N.C. The two practiced together through the younger Taylor’s junior year at Lynchburg College.
Jeffrey Owen Taylor
Jeffrey Owen Taylor, 48, of Lynchburg, Va., passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009. He was the loving husband of Mary Clare Taylor; and loving father of Jeffrey Owen Taylor Jr. A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009, in the chapel of Heritage United Methodist Church by the Rev. Riley Smith with burial to follow at 3:30 p.m. in Franklin Memorial Park in Rocky Mount, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2009, at Heritage Funeral Service, 427 Graves Mill Road. A full obituary will appear in Friday's edition. Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory, 427 Graves Mill Road, (434) 239-2405, is assisting his family.
