Appreciate the thoughts and prayers for everyone- we are in the home stretch now...

I had a good day yesterday- did very well in both academic and physical testing and only have one round left.

MrsPA's process is wrapping up- we should know w/in 2 weeks what the final disposition is.

Hoping to have great news to pass along at the end of the month or 1st week of February.

THANKS AGAIN! Please keep us in your prayers!

FINALLY! I can come clean:

as of Monday, March 3- I will be "Cadet PAmedic" of the Allentown Police Academy. It was a hard decision to move away from Fire/EMS, but after nearly 20 yrs on the job- I was ready for a new challenge. I truly feel a calling to this, and am happy with the decision and very eager to start.

The interview and pre-testing process was lengthy, all encompassing, and included numerous physical, academic, and psychological screenings (yeah- I was amazed as anyone that I passed the latter)

All went very well, and apart from a hectic week upcoming of getting supplies, uniforms, and some paperwork- I am thru all the preliminaries. what's left now is 6 months of nose-to-grindstone study and practice, M-F, 0730-1700 with some nites and weekends.

In addition, MrsPA starts her new job this week- so we have a LOT going (not the least of which is ME being in charge of the children for the week  )

please keep us in prayers, esp my family- as I will not be home much until August.

Will try to get on here to keep you guys updated, though!

Congratulations, PAcop!

(and I see they've already given you a patrol car to take to the Academy with you)

Congrats Medic (and to the Mrs. as well)!

Looks like the post count will be dropping during the spring.

No chance on the spring game now, huh?

Congratulations, Medic! Glad to hear that you will soon be sporting a sidearm. Does the Allentown uniform include one of those cool Smokey the Bear type hats?

Memo to Self: Never speed even one mile over the limit through Allentown with Texas plates.

Congrats on surviving the process and taking such a huge step beyond the comfort zone, medic.

Reminds me of an Andy Griffith episode where Barney had to stretch himself to meet the 5'8" minimum requirements. Any similar height requirements in Allentown? :)
