Well my wife is feeling much better as we enter the final month of the pregnancy. We are signed up for a weekend Lamaze class in a week or two and she is registered for giving birth at Virginia Baptist. Baby went in for a BPP on Monday and passed with flying colors. She goes in for another round of fetal monitoring in about an hour

Much obliged. Michael has been (to borrow a phrase), "practically perfect in every way" throughout the process despite having a single artery in the umbilical cord. Alina's blood pressure has never been an issue, she passed her glucose test with flying colors a few months ago, in fact, the doctor said that she would make a good poster child for what the "ideal pregnancy" would be like despite all she has been through.

Much prayer for you and your wife, the baby, and all the medical people involved. I snooped over here after you referred to it on the hoops side of things. I'm no biblical scholar and sure as heck never act like one, but Proverbs 18:10 is a good one to hold on to at times like these. Take care sir.

Well my wife has been feeling a lit of pressure in the area of the birth canal the last couple days so there is a chance that baby Michael may be coming early. She is about to head in for a non-stress test at Forest Women's Center and let them know about what she has been feeling so my next post after this one may be coming from Virginia Baptist Hospital...will update once she is done with the test.

Patience my boy, patience. The baby will come when he is ready and not a moment sooner. My oldest was sitting down on the canal so long with her head that she came out with a golf ball size knot on her head that looked scary but went away after a few days. They move down there but come when it is time.

I can understand that...although she is already being induced a week early because of the Single Umbilical Artery (which I may have referenced earlier in the thread) so she is already being watched very closely. With that and the growth of the baby, coming when he is ready may not be an option. The concern that the specialist at the perinatal clinic had is that if he goes to term, he may be stillborn because he could inadvertently cut off his own blood supply, due to having only one artery instead of two in the umbilical cord.

Her BP stabilized that night and she was discharged after her labs came back and she didnt show any signs of toxemia (sp?) or preeclampsia or any distress to the baby. She is finally on bedrest except for trips to the doctor (she does have two appointments this week on Tuesday and Friday). She is pretty anxious about a lot of things, like where her parents are going to stay when they come visit, whether or not her best friend (who was also the maid of honor for the wedding) will be able to get time off work to come be her labor coach, and just that there aren't any complications during labor and delivery and they think all that anxiety forced her BP up last week.

Update on my wife:

Went to the doctor today and her BP was 150/100 and they found excessive protein in her urine so she is on a 24 hour urine sample which basically means she has to bring about a half gallon of it with her to the doctor tomorrow. She is dilated to 1.5 cm and the midwife will read her urine sample tomorrow and she could be scheduled for induction as soon as Thursday due to her elevated BP.

Update: Well baby is coming out this week. Alina's blood pressure was once again 151/100 and her contractions are growing but she isnt quite dilated to go to the hospital so she is going walking with a friend to help things along...if she hasnt had him by end of day Thursday she will be induced on Friday

Everything is set up...we have everything that we need as well, although we are taking diaper donations anyway because you can never have too many of those
