Will the funeral be on DVD?

I would be shocked if it weren't. They are using the DVD of Dr. Lee Roberson's funeral a few weeks ago to raise scholarship money for Tennessee Temple. Incidentally they showed Danny Lovett in one cutaway.

Before that, it looked as if the pall bearers (athletes) were wearing their jerseys or warm-ups. I saw a few walking out and one looked to be in a baseball jersey. I couldn't see the others as well.
You are correct...Sene and Rashad were wearing there navy blue Nike football jerseys and so were all of the other athletes

You might have noticed JB's wife in the back of the choir banging out the 'Hallelujah Chorus'. God, I love that song.

For those of you that watched, when teh Sounds of Liberty were singing, one of the girls was choking up while she sang her little solo part. This occasion really hits home for a lot of people.

Really? It's entirely possible. I ended up sitting to the right of the family, behind the Grahams and the pallbearers.

Today was a very sad, but beautiful day. Everything went very well, and I was just thankful to be able to be there.

As weird as this sounds, I really enjoyed Doc's funeral. Went in sad, nearly lost it w/ Westover (who's he?) and the choking Sounds singer, rode it back up with the video and the White House dude and Jeannie, finally came out at the end really pumped up. Great funeral.

I just got home from the funeral. It was a very great one. I teared up during the opening prayer, the video, billingsley's song, and a couple other places. But all in all, it was a good celebration. I did most of my mourning in the past week. Sitting at Williams Stadium, it was great to be able to look out over east and north campus. It was really beautiful.

Now I just got to get this sunburn to go away!

There were probably around 3,000 at Williams. Not as much as I would have thought.

On my way out of town, I jumped on 460 east over by east campus, cops had 460 blocked, and then I noticed that there were cops, and the family following jerry's body in the hearse. I was kind of wondering where they were going. It appeared as if they got off on Campbell ave., but I couldn't be exactly sure. I heard something on the radio stating the were taking one last ride around campus?!

For those who may not know, Duke Westover was Dr. Falwell's personal assistant (unpaid) for around 30 years, give or take. He traveled with him everywhere, had an office in the mansion and took care of all the things that Dr. Falwell may not have had time to get to. All the while he ran a business on the side with his wife to support themselves, only getting paid the bare minimum by LU. He is a great and kind man. He just retired about a month ago.

The family part of the procession traveled around Liberty Mountain one last time. They circled the Liberty property and the proceeded to the burial site.

I was at the stadium. Not a big crowd there at all. Any chance they will have the video they showed before the funeral for sale? There were some great videos of Dr Falwell - ie. Jerry Claus

I cried like a baby when Jeanie got up. Lost it a few times when Doug Oldem (probably butchered that spelling) was singing in the tribute video, as well.

They also drove past Jerry old homeplace off Campbell Ave. and then looped around the mountain.

That was Ashley Albury. She grew up here and went through LCA and now LU. Her dad and uncles all went to LCA and LU. They were pretty close to JF and family.

What a great service...everything was perfect from the messages to the graveside. I'm not an emotional type of guy but it kind of hit me when I was walking out.

It was nice to see El also at the graveside also.

Something else I thought I'd share that I'll always remember is when we were walking down the aisle I kept my head down and for whatever reason I only looked up once and it was David Ring looking right at me and he was just weeping. That really meant a lot to me for whatever reason I guess b/c I have so much respect for the man.

Thanks, Scorchy. I assumed he was involved in radio somehow. That dude's got an awesome speaking voice.
