Anybody else on the board had it up to here with "The Secret". I am generally loathe towards anything Oprah has any involvement so I really hadn't given this book and and movement much thought. But it seems everywhere I turn I see people with this book or hear fellow suburbanites talking about it. Its the typical Eastern-based self-love tripe that New Agers have peddled for years. But the fact that it is getting such run makes it something for us to be concerned about right now.

The editor, Rhonda Byrne, explains that "the secret" can be found in everything from Babylonian religion to Buddhism to Albert Einstein. The Secret (available as both a book and a DVD) is no secret now, however. It has become a global video event, a clever cross-promotional marketing plan, and a book touted by Oprah.
