Our Christian foundation is what makes our university unique. This is the place to bring prayer requests, discuss theological issues and how to become better Champions for Christ.

I watched the service at home in Florida before heading back here to the burg....They broadcasted the INSP transmission of it on some indie christian station out of Orlando....I did get annoyed when they cut back to studio at a couple random times....but aside from that amazing service

I didn't get emotional at all until the video....I was trying to hold in the tears because I hate crying, but i just couldn't hold it in anymore...all those clips (especially any LU clips) just reminded me of the man that we will be missing....but man did Vines ever preach a sermon...It was so easy to feel encouraged after that funeral and I think that is exactly what Jerry would want...he wouldn't want us to continue to cry, he would want us to celebrate and be encouraged.....

I am excited about the future....very excited

Yeah, man, too quick. They shuttled us in and out pretty fast. Very surreal day, though.

Vegas, Dr. Vines made all the Jacksonville alums feel proud as heck to be associated with LU and him. Maybe you could tell him that. :D

Buck,

We've been overwhelmed with stuff since getting back. He certainly feels many, many thanks and blessings from everyone. It's been a tough week-plus.

Since the discussion is ongoing and since jvegas has Woodstock as his address, was Johnny Hunt at the service as well?

Yes. He and his wife, Janet, flew up with us as well. Great man of God Johnny Hunt is.

I second that. Thanks for filling me in on his appearance. I know there were a ton of folks who came that we haven't identified.

DVDs of graduation and the funeral are available at https://www.liberty.edu/index.cfm?PID=2 ... N=71876747 they are only asking for a minimum donation of 3.95. That is extremely cheap, and only covers shipping I'm sure. Good move by those in charge. They could have easily asked for at least $10 each

That is extremely reasonable. I'm glad they are viewing this as a ministry opportunity.

Ministry, and just as importantly, I heard that Jonathan was adamant about not wanting to profit from this. Very commendable.

Thank you to all who gave their time to post observations at the funeral (I especially loved the red tie count). I was unable to attend and was only able to catch the little snatches from CNN. I am headed to the TRBC site to get the DVD. Dr. Falwell was such a special man, great fan, and also so funny! Above all else, he was a Man of God.

Thanks again for helping me visualize what went on....
