My son is just a few weeks old now and during the initial checkup with our pediatrician, he found a heart murmur, which isn't a huge deal and normally close-up on their own.

However, after the pediatric cardiologist looked at the results from his echocardiagram -- he believes he may have seen a condition called double aortic arch. If I remember all of this correctly, the aoritic arch is the vessel that flows blood from the heart to the organs and is usually one long tube. With a double arch, it's split in half. Which means the heart has to work twice as hard to get the blood flowing.

We have a follow-up in a few weeks and there are no signs of anything serious, yet. It could just be the tech got bad pictures of his heart or simply was looking in the wrong place. As you can imagine, a young dad of only a few weeks, we're a little spooked and are praying it's nothing and the problem takes care of itself. However, we're asking for prayers for him and those who would be working with him over the next few weeks.

Thanks!
