Last night I was driving around Charlottesville when an SUV knocked me off the road. I managed to get back on the road but kept overcorrecting until I ran into an embankment and flipped my car over onto the driver side. Its pretty much totalled, but I am just thankful that I was able to walk away without even a scractch on me-part of that is b/c I was wearing my seatbelt, but according to the State Trooper "Someone upstairs was looking down on you."

Did the SUV driver stop? I'm curious as to what they were doing?

Very glad you're still with us, dude.

My wife wonders why I complain so much about people not taking driving seriously. This is why.

on a positive note- I'm glad to see you don't have the same issue with PUDDLES that some OTHER people on this board evidently do...

maybe you and THAT guy could have a vehicle barrel-rolling contest

Hallelujah!

I think most of us have had experiences in our lives that remind us of our mortality. Use this event to put your priorities in order. Sometimes God allows things to occur to get our attention.

I was reminded of my mortality in the same way as you ATrain as Medic alluded to. I was in an SUV though and it rolled and rolled and rolled but again, I had my seat belt on otherwise I would surely have been crushed by my own vehicle. We saw how DeAndre Adams of Winthrop died in a car accident earlier this year. Driving is a real risk every time we get behind the wheel. I am with you Scorcho about people paying attention behind the wheel. They don't realize how deadly the machine is they are operating. I am thankful to be alive every day and ATrain, glad you made it through buddy.

Thanks guys.

I have no idea whether or not the SUV driver was on a cell phone, but they did not stop. All I remember was that it was dark and the taillights were way to close to me. Actually 4 or 5 cars passed by while I was trying to get out before anyone stopped. First I tried to open the passenger side door, but gravity was much too powerful for that, which was when I discovered the power windows still worked. I opened the window and just climbed out.

Yes, God has definitely gotten my attention through this. Even though I emerged without even as much as a scratch or a bruise, I realize there are major things in my life I needed to get sorted out.

And like you Scar, I am VERY thankful to be alive and uninjured right now.
