There were a ton of charter buses on campus on Sunday. However, with TRBC being on campus now, is it possible to use their shuttles for school? That would help the parking situation and more freshmen would actually park in the pit instead of the places they're not supposed to.

This assumes that freshmen represent human beings and not the plague of locusts that they actually are. A horde of witless, slavering cretins with no greater purpose in life than to engender constant clamor and clash and no greater thought in their heads other than feeding and mating. Creatures who alight themselves upon every delicate patch of pristine verdant space until, by sheer weight of their numbers and appetites, they destroy what once was good and beautiful.

And, by good and beautiful, I mean my parking space.

I can't tell how sarcastic you're being, but there's nothing worse than running a little late for class, trying to find a parking space, and seeing a car with freshman tags parking in the commuter lots because they don't want to have to walk. We've had this discussion before though.

You can't tell? Come on, man, I went all poetical there...in my hatred of freshmen. OK, I see your point.

Thank you! Thank you all! I'd like to dedicate this award to everyone in grade school who ever laughed at me for reading the dictionary.

** Ingurgitate on that, you female canines of questionable parentage! **

Also, I'd like to give a shout out to all the good folks at Hooked on Phonics! Miracles really do come true!

Everybody else, party at my house! We'll be Scrabblin' til dawn!!

To wax nostalgic on my soap box for a few minutes...................
There ARE plans developed for a shuttle service that would connect all parts of campus. However, these plans revolved around using "trolley's" similar to the ONE we have servicing Lynchburg. In fact, one facet of the proposal would have required NO raise in student fees (but that would probably be a good idea) with cost being off set by advertising. For those alum of the Dr G Marketing Project From Hell (a mere nose ahead of my OLYMPIC PROJECT) you should remeber when that was put together. I know that "The Powers That Be" have copies but..................you can see where that has gotten us!

Back in the day, we walked through several feet of snow, unshoveled sidewalks, dressed in a REAL dress code, and often BAREFOOT (to save our dress shoes) to get to class. You young uns need to
Suck
It
Up
and realize how very good you have it these days.

(and don't tell me you were attacted to LU because of the cozy campus, either).

This is closer to the truth than I care to remember. The worst was the red mud everywhere when the sidewalks were not finished.

Oh, woe is me!

Back in the day I was in middle school and my mommy drove me to class.

Big deal.

The biggest problem is getting from class on North Campus to Main Campus. That's what the shuttles would be needed for.

They're not envying us. They just like to remind us how bad they had it back then.

my parents were students at LU back when it was still Liberty Baptist College way back in the 70's and their dorm room was a hotel room and the classes were in broom closets at the old old TRBC building, but because of that are very good friends with the falwells (my mom taught John and Jr.), so i already know how lucky i have it and how different it is from when they went there because i have shorter shorter hair than my dad did and he keeps telling me its too long because he almost got kicked out for his length when he went there. But i dont care about the busses because my parents bought me a moped to get from east campus to north campus, mainly because that distance is the length of the entire campus of the college im transferring too and with how little i went to classes there, they know i wouldnt go to class if i had to walk that far haha.

Ouch. LOL

Nah, just a bit of harmless remincsing (sp?).

I am thrilled to see the progress of LU and hope it gets better and better.

Somebody has to keep you kids in check, SJ.

:D

And yes, clay-stained clothes were the daily order of business when many of us were in school and they had very little sod down around campus.

That hasn't changed much. With all of the construction going on now there's plenty of the red devil on everyone's clothes these days. Especially if you happen to be within proximity of the TRBC construction. Despite my best efforts, my floormats have still managed to be attacked by the red devil.
